Description

FallPlanting 🌱

Have you ever felt that forests in Minecraft are too static? Trees are cut down, saplings are dropped, and if nobody picks them up, they simply disappear forever.

Saplanting brings a small but immersive change to Minecraft's natural world: fallen saplings can now plant themselves back into the environment.

When a sapling item is dropped on the ground, it will wait for a configurable amount of time before planting itself if the conditions are right. This creates a more dynamic ecosystem where forests can slowly recover and nature feels more alive.

🌱 Features

Automatic Sapling Planting

Dropped saplings are no longer wasted. After the configured delay, they will attempt to grow back into the world.

  • Supports all vanilla saplings.
  • The planted sapling keeps its original type.
  • Oak saplings grow into oak trees, birch saplings grow into birch trees, and so on. saplings behing planted

Configurable Delay

The waiting time before a sapling plants itself can be changed directly through the NeoForge configuration menu.

  • Default: 20 seconds
  • Fully configurable

Natural Regeneration

Saplanting makes forests feel more alive by allowing nature to slowly recover after player activity.

Cut down a forest? Leave some saplings behind, and nature can begin rebuilding itself.

🌳 Future Plans

Saplanting is designed to grow into a bigger ecosystem system. Future updates may include:

  • Wind-blown saplings and leaves
  • Natural sapling spreading
  • More realistic forest regeneration
  • Additional environmental behaviors
  • More configuration options

⚙️ Compatibility

  • Server compatible
  • Works with vanilla saplings and can support modded saplings that use Minecraft's sapling tag system

💚 Why FallPlanting?

Minecraft's world is full of life, but sometimes nature feels like it only exists while the player is watching. Saplanting aims to add small details that make the environment feel more natural, autonomous, and alive.

A tiny sapling on the ground is no longer just an item waiting to disappear — it is a chance for a new tree to grow.
