Description

Fantasy Pattern

Summary: A compact ME crafting pipeline for Applied Energistics 2 (NeoForge 1.21.1): encode a processing recipe into a Fantasy Pattern, fill it from JEI in the Fantasy Encoding Terminal, and let the Fantasy Molecular Reconfiguration Pattern Provider execute it instantly through your ME network.

Unofficial addon for Applied Energistics 2. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the Applied Energistics 2 team.

What it does

Fantasy Pattern adds a three-part, ME-native crafting pipeline to Applied Energistics 2:

  • Fantasy Pattern — a single item that stores a processing recipe as data (up to 81 ingredient entries and 6 results; items, fluids and, with Mekanism, chemicals).
  • Fantasy Encoding Terminal — an ME terminal part that creates those patterns, with one-click transfer from any JEI recipe.
  • Fantasy Molecular Reconfiguration Pattern Provider — a crafting block that holds patterns, consumes the ingredients from your network and injects the results instantly, with no intermediate machine.

Features

Fantasy Pattern

  • Encodes a processing recipe into one item: up to 81 ingredient entries and 6 results, items, fluids and (with Mekanism) chemicals alike.
  • Tag-based ingredients: a bookshelf pattern asks for any plank (#minecraft:planks), and the crafting planner picks whatever your network actually has.
  • Fully persistent: crafting jobs survive world reloads.

Fantasy Encoding Terminal

  • ME terminal part with the full network item list; recipes transfer from JEI with amounts as shown (machine mods such as Modern Industrialization transfer correct counts), and tags are restored server-side.

Fantasy Molecular Reconfiguration Pattern Provider

  • Registers patterns with the network's crafting service; executes them instantly — never busy, so a single block processes as many crafts per tick as the CPU requests.

Requirements

Dependency Required Notes
Minecraft 1.21.1
NeoForge 21.1.x
Applied Energistics 2 19.2.x
JEI Recipe transfer into the encoding terminal
Mekanism 🔶 Optional Chemical inputs/outputs in patterns
Applied Mekanistics 🔶 Optional Bridges chemicals into AE2

Without Mekanism/Applied Mekanistics the mod runs fine; chemical slots simply are not available.

Usage

  1. Craft a blank Fantasy Pattern and place it in the Fantasy Encoding Terminal.
  2. Open a recipe in JEI and press the transfer button (+) — ingredients and results are filled in, tags and amounts preserved.
  3. Optionally press the double button next to the results to scale the recipe up.
  4. Press Encode — the blank pattern becomes an encoded Fantasy Pattern.
  5. Place encoded patterns in the Fantasy Molecular Reconfiguration Pattern Provider and request the output from any terminal: ingredients are consumed and the result is produced instantly.

Compatibility

  • Modern Industrialization & other machine mods: transfer uses the amounts JEI displays, so multi-count machine recipes fill in correctly.
  • AllTheLeaks: if a mod's getIngredients() has side effects that AllTheLeaks locks against, the server falls back to the displayed recipe instead of failing.
