Description

FastFastMap

A high-performance minimap mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 (Fabric). Built for speed — parallel chunk scanning, GPU tile caching, and seamless updates with zero flicker.

Features

HUD Minimap

Always-on minimap in the bottom-right corner of your screen.

  • Player direction arrow — red filled triangle with white outline, rotates with your view
  • Water bathymetry — see the terrain beneath the water, depth-shaded in blue
  • Smooth height shading — continuous brightness based on slope, not discrete steps
  • Biome tint — grass, leaves, and water colored per biome

Fullscreen Map M

Google Maps-style tile viewer. Open with M, close with M or Esc.

  • Zoom to cursor — scroll wheel zooms centered on your mouse position
  • Smooth zoom animation — no jarring snaps
  • LOD tile system — automatically switches tile resolution as you zoom in/out (zoom 5 = 16px/block → zoom −3 = 16 blocks/px)
  • Fallback rendering — lower-res tiles shown while high-res tiles load; no black squares
  • Right-click drag to pan, R to re-center on player

Persistent Cache

Your map data is saved to disk and restored on reconnect — no need to re-explore.

  • Separate cache per server address and world name
  • Auto-saves every 60 seconds and on disconnect
  • Previously explored areas appear on the map instantly when you rejoin

Performance

  • Chunk scanning runs on parallel worker threads (up to 4)
  • GPU tile cache with LRU eviction (128 tiles max)
  • Anti-flicker design — chunk updates never cause blank tiles; old tiles stay visible until the new render is ready, then swap seamlessly.
  • RAM tile cache capped at 512 tiles (~128 MB)
