About

Description

Fertile Soil is a tiny, purely aesthetic mod. It adds one thing that I have often thought would be nice: planting crops on grass.

Video Tutorial:

Introducing Fertile Soil

Fertile Soil adds one block: Rich Dirt. This block behaves (almost) exactly like vanilla dirt.

Grass will spread to it from nearby vanilla grass, it can be tilled, hoed, or stolen by Endermen.

Rich Dirt does not spawn naturally in the world, it must be crafted.

A Note to ModPack Makers

Any plantable with the plant type "CROP", as well as anything in vanilla minecraft that will grow on vanilla dirt, will grow on rich dirt.

This means that custom crops from other mods will work out of the box!

However, modded flowers and other plantables might not work unless you add them to somewhat poorly named fertilesoil:fertile_grass_plants tag.

Please feel free to add Fertile Soil to your modpack if you want to <3 and if you do, please let me know!
