About

Description

fidgetz, or fishstiz' widgets, is a component library for Minecraft screens.

⚠️ It's made for personal use only so I do not recommended using it on your own mods since its undocumented and unstable!!! ⚠️

The main use for fidgetz isn't to have a version agnostic API, nor a wide variety of components that vanilla lacks (although there are a couple new ones), but to make components dumb while integrating nicely with the vanilla framework.

Localizing state within components is fine for most use cases, but if you ever need to make your screen more reactive just using the vanilla widgets, then you may run into issues like cyclical dependencies and unsychronized state.

Most other libraries will usually create their own framework for reactivity (and stability) at the cost of interoperability and not having the same look and feel of Minecraft: Java Edition. This library does it at the cost of stability (along with Minecraft being unstable in general) and needs more boilerplate.
