Description

Find My Items

Index opened containers, search items and crafting materials, and retrieve or deposit items from one native client-side screen.

Features

  • Catalog Screen: Native client-side search UI with Mod Menu integration and keybind support (B by default).
  • Container Indexing: Automatically indexes chests, double chests, trapped chests, barrels, ender chests, and placed shulker boxes when opened.
  • Search & Filter: Word-aware fuzzy search matching item names, item IDs, and tooltip text (including enchantment names and Roman/Arabic numerals).
  • Retrieve & Deposit: Quick retrieval and item-conserving deposit to nearby containers within interaction range.
  • Crafting Planner: Multi-depth material planning with stock deduction from indexed containers.
  • Container Screen Filter: In-place filtering field on standard container screens.
  • Nested Shulker Indexing: Recursively indexes shulker boxes inside containers up to four levels deep.
  • Single-Player Only: Client-side single-player mod that stands down on multiplayer servers.

Requirements

Note: Cloth Config is no longer required as of v0.1.5.

Controls

  • Open Catalog: press B (configurable in Options → Controls).
  • Switch Views: Ctrl+1 (Items), Ctrl+2 (Containers), Ctrl+3 (Crafting) — use Cmd on macOS.
  • Items View:
    • Eye icon: Highlight container through blocks for 5 seconds.
    • Hopper icon: Retrieve specified item quantity into player inventory.
    • Chest icon: Deposit matching items from player inventory into container.
    • Grid Layout: Toggle between list and grid views; hover for container breakdowns and reachability status.
    • Container Filter: Type in the search box above open container screens to dim non-matching slots.

Configuration

Open the Find My Items entry in Mod Menu or configure settings in config/findmyitems.json.

Setting Default Range Description
Rescan interval 5 s 0–30 s Re-read nearby indexed containers periodically (0 disables).
Search distance 4 chunks 0–32 chunks Maximum distance for periodic rescans (0 is unlimited).
Retrieval reach 0 blocks 0–256 blocks Maximum reach for retrieval/deposit (0 uses normal reach).
Index ender chest true on/off Index ender-chest contents anywhere without requiring a placed block.
Filter inventory true on/off Show search filter in player inventory screen.
Filter containers true on/off Show search filter in chest/container screens.

Limitations

  • Client-side and single-player only (disables on multiplayer servers).
  • Supported containers: chests, double chests, trapped chests, barrels, ender chests, and shulker boxes.
  • Crafting planner supports player inventory and crafting-table recipes only.
