About
Description
This mod adds a dynamic fog weather system to the overworld—thick fog can randomly roll in, reducing visibility and bringing a new survival challenge.
How to play
How the fog occurs You can trigger it by typing /weather foggy. Every 5–10 minutes (random), there’s a 5% chance for a thick fog event to happen in the overworld. The fog lasts 3–6 minutes (random) and then gradually dissipates. The fog’s onset and fading each have about a 10-second transition (visibility gradually changes).
Effects of the fog
Visibility drops a lot: view distance is reduced from the normal 64 blocks down to a minimum of 6 blocks. The view turns gray-white: the fog color shifts toward white, creating immersion with low visibility. The sky is obscured: during fog, you won’t see the blue sky, clouds, sun, or moon; the sky looks gray and dull.
How the fog ends
Automatic dissipation: the fog starts to fade automatically after 3–6 minutes. Using /weather clear: when an admin types this command, the fog will immediately start dissipating. Entering special biomes: the fog only triggers or stays if all online players leave hot biomes like deserts, badlands, tropical savannas, and jungles; if any player stays in these biomes, the fog won’t trigger, and any ongoing fog will end early.
Fog end notification When the fog fully clears, all online players will see a gray message: 'The thick fog has lifted.'
