Description
The project is still in early works and as such lacks a few features that it should have, notably commands.
ForgeIRC
About
ForgeIRC is a forge port of the MinestomIRC extension, which in turn is a large recode of CraftIRC 4Sponge, which in turn is a port of CraftIRC 4 (which is for Bukkit) for Sponge.
However even though the underlying projects (over 8 years if you count CraftIRC 3) has endured for a pretty long time, many recent changes have prompted me to say that the project may have some issues, so use at your own risk. Particularly untested is the NickServ integration, however that one was not changed by me, so it likely works.
Usage
Most of the settings for the bridge can be changed in the /world/serverconfig/forgeirc.toml and the settings are documented well. We recommend to only modify the default bot, and not to add more, as multiple bots might get confusing to some. Additionally forge's config support might be limited
License
ForgeIRC continues to use the MIT/Expat license of the CraftIRC 4Sponge project. This means you can do a lot with the mod (use, redistribute (please don't - not very polite), package it into a modpack, etc.) as long as you include the permission and copyright notice.
As with most software, we do not provide any warranty, but will of course try to keep bugs fixed if they are reported. So report them!
Dependencies and Java
As of the 19th December of 2020, the project only requires Java 8 in order to run, however it will (and is only tested at that version) also run at Java 11. This is because there currently isn't a good reason to use Java 11, however we will make use of it in the near future when we are going to port the KittehIRCClientLibrary (short: KICL) to Java 11. Either way use Java 11 as it only breaks minimal amounts of things and the things that break should not be used anyways.
ForgeIRC does not depend on any other mod.
