About
Description
FrameLift improves rendering performance while preserving Minecraft’s appearance and your graphics settings.
Its optimizations focus on reducing unnecessary rendering work:
-
Particle rendering: Reuses rendering buffers to reduce memory allocations when drawing vanilla particles.
-
Particle lighting: Shares identical lighting results within each frame to avoid repeated calculations.
-
Hidden-object culling: Skips eligible vanilla entities and block entities when their entire render bounds are hidden behind opaque blocks.
-
Instant ON/OFF switch: Toggle FrameLift directly in Options → Video Settings. Changes apply immediately and persist across restarts.
-
Individual controls: Configure each optimization through Mods → FrameLift → Config.
FrameLift is enabled by default. Custom renderers receive conservative handling, and detected renderer, shader, dynamic-light, or culling conflicts can automatically bypass affected optimizations.
Installation: Requires Minecraft Java 1.20.1, Forge 47.2.0 or newer in the 47.x series, and Java 17. Place the JAR in your mods folder. No additional mods are required.
FrameLift runs on the client; multiplayer servers do not need it installed.
Performance gains depend on your hardware, the scene, and other installed mods. A fixed FPS increase is not guaranteed.
