Fromville is a horror mod inspired by the TV series FROM. Every night smiling strangers walk out of the dark. They always know where you are. Torches don't stop them, the sun doesn't burn them, and doors don't keep them out.

Only a talisman does.

🌙 They come at night

  • They appear around you outdoors every night, however many torches you place
  • Nine of them: a man in a tie, a man in a yellow suit, a nurse, a housewife, a farmer, an old lady, a sheriff, a pastor and a waitress. All of them smile.
  • They sense you through walls and come straight to your house
  • 100 health, armor and fast regeneration. Hiding works much better than fighting.
  • At dawn they vanish without a trace

🚪 Doors won't stop them

  • They open wooden and iron doors, and close them behind
  • A house with an unprotected door is not a shelter

🪨 The talisman

  • Hang it on a wall within 8 blocks of the door, and they can't open it
  • Recipe (crafting table): string in the top middle, then flint, stone, flint in the middle row

🩸 At your door

  • When you hide behind a protected door, they gather in a half circle in front of it and stare
  • One at a time they walk up and knock, and whisper your name in chat
  • Open the door, and they will thank you for the invitation

😱 The true face

  • The first time one of them hits you, it shows its true face: black eyes and a torn, bloody grin
  • From then on it is 30% faster and hits much harder. It doesn't knock anymore. It bangs.

Tips

  • Craft a talisman and pick a house before the first night
  • Don't let them hit you
  • Whatever they say, don't open the door
