Frozen Dominion Spells

Ten spells of ice for Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks, out of the world of Frozen Dominion - and the Priestess's Rime Breviary.

All ten belong to the Ice school. Each has its own cast, its own sound, and its effect is a thing in the world with a model of its own - not a puff of particles.

• Avalanche - a wave of ice chunks rolls out along the ground before you, hurling aside, slowing and wounding everything in its path. It climbs a step and drops down two; a wall stops it.
• Icicle Rain - where you look, shadows darken the ground one after another, and over each an icicle falls out of the air and bursts, chilling whoever still stands there.
• Frost Javelin - hurl a javelin of ice. Into a foe it drives home and chills; into the ground it stands as a pillar of ice: cover to hide behind, and a creature that runs into it is stunned.
• Frost Shackles - chains of ice tear up out of the ground round the foe you point at and hold it where it stands: it can neither walk, nor jump, nor be pushed away until they snap.
• Frost Heart - set a heart of ice upon the ground. With every beat a ring of frost runs out from it, wounding and slowing what it passes, until its time runs out or something breaks it.
• Rune Litany - runes of ice gather and circle you. Each time you wound something - with a spell, a blade or an arrow - one rune breaks from the ring, flies at it and freezes it.
• Ice Sentinel - raise a sentinel of ice with a tower shield and a sword. It keeps by your side, attacks what you fight, and turns blows from the front aside with its shield.
• Frost Shell - a shell of ice closes round you and takes the blows. When it is spent, or its time runs out, it bursts, and its shards cut everything round about.
• Winter's Sorrow - rings of ice spires burst up round you one after another, the nearest first: the Sovereign's Lament's own ground spikes, made a spell and far weaker than the greatsword's.
• Rime Path - the Kingsrime sword's spikes made a spell: a line of ice spires driven out ahead of you along the ground, each a little bigger than the last, until a wall or a drop stops it. Weak, quick, and it shows a foe exactly where not to stand.

The Priestess of Rime reads her litany from it in her chapel. When she falls, it is yours: a spellbook of the citadel. In a party, everyone who fought her takes one of their own.

The add-on works on its own with Iron's Spells - its spells join the others like any spell of the Ice school. With Frozen Dominion installed, the citadel comes alive with them:

• their scrolls turn up in the citadel's chests - common, chained and secret;
• the Priestess of Rime carries her Breviary;
• the citadel's weapons carry its spells, cast from the hand they are held in, the way Iron's Spells' own imbued weapons do: Everfrost and Kingsrime blades and bows, Throne's Bane, the Sovereign's Lament, the Staff of the Hollow King and the Bow of the Last Watch.
