About The mod

From The Ground Up is a mod that aims to revamp vanilla mobs from the ground up — giving them new sounds, visuals, mechanics and iterating on their original identity. Every new feature can be toggled on or off through the mod’s config.

Grounded Resource Pack

The mod comes with a bundled resource pack that has additional tweaks that work in tandem with the mod's vision, but may feel out of place with other mods or with some config options disabled.

Feature List

  • Endermen renamed to Warped
  • Ender Pearl retextured and renamed to Warping Pearl
  • Displacer retextured accordingly
  • Retextured Creeper and Enderman to match the new designs (this change was made in case other mods utilize the base texture so they don't feel as out of place)
  • Savage and Ravage creepie sprout retexture to fit with the new creeper

Mob Changes

Enderman

  • Remodel, Retexture, new Animations for idling, screaming, teleporting and running
  • New Shattered variant that replaces spawns in the Overworld and 30% of spawns in a tag that by default only has the Warped Forest
  • Shattered Enderman by default release a cloud of Dragon Breath upon death that can be bottled
  • New sounds for everything
  • New background sounds that play while fighting an Enderman
  • New staring overlay when looking at an Enderman's face
  • Higher chance of teleporting while fighting with one (even higher if Shattered)
  • Removed ability to pick up and place blocks
  • New chance of spawning holding different blocks (from a tag) that varies between dimensions
  • New ambient particles and new teleporting effects
  • New redstone block, the Displacer, that teleports blocks and entities in a set direction based on redstone input
  • New Ender Pearl sounds

Creeper

  • Remodel, Retexture, new Animations for exploding, running, being noticed
  • New Lichen variant that spawns on stone
  • Creeper now sneak up on you slowly before being noticed (being within your field of view), and run at you if you sprint
  • Creeper explosions now don't break blocks, but cause blocks to fall in a radius. This only works with blocks in the creeper_can_collapse tag
  • New sounds for everything
  • New explosion particles for Creepers and Tnt
  • New mob interactions with pigs and improved interaction with cats
  • 9 new music discs can be dropped when killed by a skeleton
  • Creeper explosions now ignite other Creepers
  • Creepers now explode when on fire
  • Powered Creepers are now immune to fire damage
  • When exploding a Powered Creeper will spawn a new miniboss, the Charged Creeper
  • Charged Creepers give a new effect called Doomed, that makes mobs drop their head on death
  • Charged Creepers drop a new crop/projectile, Beheading Spores, which only grow during thunder and can be thrown at mobs to give them the Doomed effect
