Description
InfNexus Addon for Fungal Infection: Spore
Overview:

InfNexus is an addon for Fungal Infection: Spore that introduces a living, stationary infection core known as the Nexus of Infection. Once spawned, it anchors itself in the world and begins transforming the surrounding environment into a growing fungal ecosystem that evolves, expands, and adapts over time.
What it does:
The Nexus establishes a permanent foothold and begins radial infection spread
Gradually converts terrain, water, and vegetation into fungal biomass
Creates a persistent zone of influence that expands as its internal power grows
Progression:
The Nexus evolves through four distinct phases, each representing increased territorial control and threat level:
Phase I - Capture: establishment of infection and initial expansion
Phase II - Hunt: active pressure on players and territorial enforcement
Phase III - Expand: accelerated spread and sustained global influence
Phase IV - Siege: full regional dominance and coordinated large-scale assaults
Configuration:
All major systems can be tuned in config/infnexus-common.toml:
The Nexus is designed as a long-term world event boss, focusing on territorial control and escalation rather than direct confrontation.
The Nexus tracks a global Power value that governs its phase and behavior.
If Power is reduced below 25%, the Nexus can regress back to Phase I, resetting its aggression level.
From Phase III onward, regression is no longer possible - the Nexus can only be temporarily suppressed, pausing or slowing its attack systems.
Power is reduced by eliminating infected entities associated with Spore.
To fully destroy the Nexus, players must maintain at least 4 active Cold Dispersion Units (CDUs) simultaneously (configurable).
If the number of active CDUs drops below the threshold, the Nexus immediately re-enters its protected state.
