About

Description

Gambler's Trinket is a mod that adds a new curio accessory to the game (and therefore mandates the installation of Curios API) that applies a random status effect of varying degrees and duration on its wearer when entities are struck. It is worth noting that this accessory ain't called the "Gambler's Trinket" for nothing; as it can apply both buffs and debuffs alike. However, simmer down with that tense prospect of the accessory for a moment, as all registered buffs are applied twice as frequently as the debuffs allowing for the accessory to live up to its cost that the player so willingly spent upon acquiring it.

It is however also worth noting that while the accessory is primarily tinkered around the combat aspects of the game, with its whole shtick being its ability to grant the player almost every possible status effect in the game (save for a few), it is entirely possible to attain effects that serve little to no use or under very specific circumstances in the context of combat but the chances of acquiring those have also been subject to reduction, albeit less so than any debuff.

DISCLAIMER: The mod does not currently support modded status effects and has no way of incorporating them through means of manual input/configuration. As of yet, only vanilla status effects are supported.

Acquiring the Trinket

All steps toward obtaining the accessory involve crafting only. Though all recipes constituting the eventual acquisition of it come with some serious cost (the conditions leading up to its cost being that the player has to have raided an ocean monument at some point, has slain a Wither and bottled clouds of the Ender Dragon's breath).

Prior to crafting the actual trinket itself, the player has to first craft its base item. The items involved in its recipe are as follows:

  • 1x Honeycomb
  • 1x Iron Nugget
  • 4x Copper Ingot
  • 2x Gold Ingot
  • 1x Prismarine Crystals

Following the base trinket, we move on to the accessory's actual recipe. This is where the item's hefty cost ultimately sets its place. The items involved in its recipe are as follows:

  • 1x Ghast Tear
  • 1x Nether Star
  • 1x Magma Cream
  • 1x Nether Wart
  • 1x Gambler's Trinket Base
  • 1x Blaze Powder
  • 1x Fermented Spider Eye
  • 1x Dragon's Breath
  • 1x Glistering Melon Slice

And that about wraps up all there is you need to know about the mod. I send my prayers to RNGesus on your behalf so happy gambling!
