Description
Gan Delight is a Chinese food collection and production-oriented mod for Minecraft, created using MCreator. This mod serves as an add-on to Farmer's Delight and features synthesis compatibility with mods such as Pam's World, Flavor Immersed Daily , and Caupona.
Without Farmer's Delight installed, most dishes in Gan Delight can still be crafted using the crafting table, except for those requiring specific materials from Farmer's Delight. However, when Farmer's Delight is installed, all dishes can be cooked using the cooking pot from Farmer's Delight.
The current version of Gan Delight is developed for Minecraft 1.20.1, and no conflicts with other mods have been identified so far. While it may be possible to run the mod in other game versions, those versions will not receive updates or maintenance.
Jiangxi cuisine, an integral part of China's traditional culinary culture, boasts unique regional characteristics and flavors that attract numerous food enthusiasts. The meticulously crafted dishes in this mod highlight the local features of Jiangxi, offering both nutritional value and delicious taste. Despite its rich culinary heritage, Jiangxi cuisine remains relatively unknown outside the province and is even fragmented within it. This mod aims to provide players with a deeper understanding of the cuisine from this inland eastern province, often referred to as the "Akkarin Province." It is particularly recommended for players who enjoy food-themed mods.
Jiangxi does not lack delicious food, nor does it merely serve as a simple appendage to neighboring culinary traditions. This mod hopes to foster a more objective understanding and interest in Jiangxi's food and its role as a central inland province. It also offers a place of respite for Jiangxi natives far from home, allowing them to reminisce about their hometown's dishes within the game. (For dishes in the mod that require dog meat for cooking, there is a special tofu dog meat in the mod that can be used as a substitute)
🍜 Gameplay Mechanics
The mod currently includes 63 dishes that players can prepare, each accompanied by descriptive introductions. These include renowned selections such as the "Top Ten Jiangxi Dishes."
Dishes are categorized into four tiers, which reflect their fame rather than their difficulty of preparation:
• Golden Dishes: These are among the so-called "Top Ten Jiangxi Dishes." Since different lists exist, the mod includes the most widely recognized ones, potentially exceeding ten dishes.
• Purple Dishes: Sourced from online selections of Jiangxi's famous regional dishes, each with distinct local characteristics. There are approximately 20 such dishes.
• Blue Dishes: Collected by the author through online and offline research, these represent other local specialties from across Jiangxi. They are diverse and commonly encountered in daily life, potentially including dishes from players' hometowns.
• White Dishes: This category includes simple Jiangxi-specific foods as well as common homemade dishes enjoyed nationwide, such as scrambled eggs with tomatoes.
To support the preparation of certain foods, the mod adds multiple new plants. These can be used to craft seeds for planting and harvesting, with bone meal accelerating growth to maturity in two applications. All food seeds must be purchased from a summoned NPC named Farmer Elias. His summoning block is crafted using one emerald and eight wheat seeds in a crafting table. Once crafted, right-click to place the block and summon him.
For seasonings, some can be crafted within the mod, while others must be purchased from NPCs. Similarly, players need to craft the Merchant Elias block to access these transactions. Certain special ingredients or condiments can also be obtained by trading with farmers or butchers in villages.
The mod is currently in its early stages and will receive irregular updates.
