Description

Gems Expanded is a vanilla-plus mod designed to enrich the underground of your Minecraft world. It introduces a vibrant collection of precious minerals that bridge the gap between mid-game iron and late-game diamond gear, while finally giving a functional purpose to vanilla’s rarest crystals.
 
💎 New Gemstones
Explore your world to find seven brand-new, rare gemstones. These stones are found deep within the earth and can be used to craft high-tier equipment:
  • Ruby & Sapphire: The classic red and blue powerhouses.
  • Citrine & Carnelian: Warm-toned gems for striking equipment.
  • Agate & Spessartine: Rare, earthy minerals found in deep veins.
  • Poudretteite: An exceptionally rare pink gemstone for the most dedicated miners, and is definitely the strongest mineral in this mod.
 
⚔️ Full Tool & Weapon Sets
Every gem added by this mod follows the traditional "Diamond" crafting structure. You can use your collected gems to craft a full suite of durable and powerful equipment, including:
  • Swords for high-damage combat.
  • Pickaxes with competitive mining speeds.
  • Axes, Spades, and Hoes to complete your arsenal, not to mention ARMOR as well!
 
✨ Enhanced Vanilla Utility
Tired of having chests full of Amethyst and Emerald with nothing to do but trade or decorate? This mod integrates them fully into the gear progression.
  • Amethyst Gear: Turn those purple clusters into functional, shimmering tools and weapons.
  • Emerald Gear: Elevate your status by wearing and wielding the very currency you trade with villagers.
 
🛠️ Balanced Progression
While these tools are powerful, they are balanced for survival play. Most gem tools offer stats comparable to Diamond but with varying levels of durability and enchantability based on the rarity of the stone, ensuring that every find in the caves feels rewarding.
 
Compatibility:
Works with most major world-generation mods. For the best experience, we recommend using a mod like REI or JEI to view specific crafting recipes and stat differences!
