Basic description :

GitanCraft is a Minecraft 1.21.1 mod (NeoForge) that adds a unique trading NPC to your world: the Scrap Dealer, an eccentric old junk merchant with a soft spot for copper.

The Scrap Dealer (NPC)

A custom entity with its own model and texture — a weathered, talkative old peddler in a worn cap and brown coat, always rummaging through his gear or counting coins. He greets players with 15-20 unique, colorful merchant one-liners ("Ah, copper! My favorite stone, my friend!") and is immune to lava, a nod to his life spent around mines and scrapyards.

He doesn't spawn naturally — players must craft a Scrap Dealer Spawn Egg using 8 copper ingots surrounding 1 gold ingot in a crafting table, tying his summoning directly to the resources he loves.

Trading Interface

Right-clicking the Scrap Dealer opens a custom GUI (not the vanilla villager trade screen) with two tabs:

  • Sell Ores: deposit copper, iron, gold, diamond, emerald, redstone, lapis, netherite scrap, etc., in exchange for Scrap Credits (a custom currency). Copper earns a 2-3x bonus since it's his favorite. Prices fluctuate slightly (±10%) for a living-market feel.
  • Shop: spend Scrap Credits on randomly enchanted tools and weapons, single-enchantment books (weighted rarity), and unique items. Stock refreshes periodically.

Unique Items

  • Camelot's Ring: a gold ring (Curios accessory slot) that grants Fortune III on every tool you use while equipped — expensive, meant as an end-game purchase.
  • Scavenger's Compass: points toward the nearest ore within a set radius.
  • Scrap Sack: an expanded bag that auto-sorts and stacks raw ores.
  • Merchant's Loupe: right-click an ore block to preview its Scrap Credit value before mining it.
  • Lucky Medallion: small chance to duplicate a mined ore.
  • Scrap Cart: a decorative/functional mobile chest, brocante-themed.

Currency

Scrap Credits exist as physical coin items (stackable, storable, tradeable between players) with a bill/banknote version for large sums.

Progression

Custom advancements track milestones (first sale, first shop purchase, crafting the Spawn Egg, obtaining Camelot's Ring), plus an optional reputation system that unlocks discounts or exclusive stock after repeated trades. All prices are configurable via a JSON config file.

Technical

Built for Forge/NeoForge 1.21.1, with a custom Screen/AbstractContainerMenu GUI, a Blockbench entity model using the provided skin texture, custom or pitch-shifted vanilla sounds, proper loot tables/datagen, and clean package structure (entity, gui, item, network).
