Description

Granules
granule: noun; "a small particle, grain, or little piece of a substance."
Granules, definitely, is a mod about a lot of little things; though, like all little things, they're only little relative to what they may be, be it a little transportation, a little enchantment, or even a little ore, all of which can vary from player to player. As such, it adds a little new content to flavor your experience, even if it’s a little content spread across three massive pages.
Contents
This mod is meant to be inspected under a microscope, like any needle in a haystack, and there are five pillars to categorize the mod's functions under.
- Look closely at the world. Places hide new materials, creatures, small structures, and oddities. Curiosity is heavily rewarded, and new sights and sounds are plenty, but few and far between. Reconsider the fletching table, horse armor, or even the night sky; familiar objects will keep offering new possibilities.
- Understanding is found through experimenting. Preparation, observation, and invention will be a compass. There are more options to design as you see fit, so long as you go out of your way to document them. This extends to the config, too, where almost any number can be tweaked.
- Secrets, history, and anomalies. You'll find a lot of old features returning in far older places. Archaeology, folklore, and an understanding of items and creatures on a conceptual level might help to leverage against them and find new outlets through them.
- Home. With mods and mod packs, it can be very troublesome to start with a foundation for a homestead. Granules adds new options for fences, walls, and even slabs, as well as entirely new sets of masonry and decorative interactions. It doesn't aim to be a decoration mod, but it does provide what it can.
- Practical knowledge. Not a lot of things are easy to prepare for in Minecraft, and a lot of things may have trouble sinking in, or far too little trouble to consider twice. You could sleep through your first night, but was anything stopping you? Are there any biomes, ingredients, or animals you overlooked trying to speedrun your way to an Elytra?
This isn't all the major content that Granules adds, but consider taking it out for a spin and trying out its features for yourself :-) The mod also adds many enchantments, brewing recipes, and miscellaneous quality-of-life interactions, maybe a few game rules, and just enough world generation to improve your experience, likely a vanilla+ one, in line with the mod and its complements. If you don't want to play with any major content, you can also choose to ban it from appearing in your world more than it already has.
Complements
While not mods I've made, I'd recommend using them alongside Granules for a fuller experience:
- Chunky: This mod has saved my computer countless times over the last month.
- Enchantment Descriptions: While not up to date with 26.2 (as of writing this), there is support implemented for it.
- Roughly Enough Items: While not recommended given one of the vanilla++ features of Granules, REI is a very good mod, generally speaking. It's very helpful when Minecraft's existing recipe book is not.
- Jade: Just for identifying certain things! I'm not the best explainer or gameplay presenter, so if you need more help than a recipe browser is willing to provide, you'll see a bit more identification here.
