Description
Minecraft on Veteran Mode
This mod is currently in beta development
Gravesend is a harsh and unforgiving brutal survival mod that changes gameplay and progression,
In this mod the player has to grapple with harsh realities of trying to survive on Earth, many real world mechanics have been added to the game to culminate into the harshest survival of the fittest experience ever! The player now has to manage clean water, different climates, disease, punishing injuries, and realistically dangerous mobs and wildlife. Gravesend completely redesigns world generation, using realistic, North American inspired environments, all of which can affect gameplay. Want a harsh and and unforgiving spawn? Load into a tundra and fight with crippling cold while trying desperately to get safe drinking water! Want a more "normal" experience? Spawn into an East Coast style Forest and dodge skeleton archers and avoid fatal zombie bites! Rather something in between? Try to eerie Appalachian woodlands! Where you'll find realistical but unsettled wooded environments... But make sure you're ready before the winter comes! Winter temperature drops carry a demanding toll! See a group of men in the distance? See a skeleton or a group of men in the distance? Pick your battles carefully! Combat comes at a cost! And don't let a crocidile get a hold of you! You might just lose a limb!
Important Gameplay Changes to be aware of:
- Damage can now cause persistent injuries, recovery options are being worked on
- You must drink water to survive, <50% thirst causes dehydration, canteens and buckets can carry water
- You can drink from fresh water sources early on, but establish water purification to avoid getting sick
- Temperature affects gameplay, different biomes and regions will have different climates and seasonal patterns, 55-80F is generally safe to play in, ranges outside that will cause environmental threats
- Campfires can warm sorrounding area
- Diseases can be contracted through various gameplay interactions, zombie bites will cause a fatal infection
- Various appliances are made through real world interactions rather than game ones, right click stone based materials to light a stick on fire, which is how you ignite firepits early on
- Co2 poisoning can occur by lighting campfires indoors
- Injuries can occur that can be dibilitating, weapons now do more realistic damage and cause game scaled injuries, injuries can range from puncture wounds, sprains, broken bones, cuts, to complete limb loss
- Certain animals can now run, are hostile, and can defend themselves, do not assume that every animal is going to go down without a fight or is friendly
- Zombies only take damage from headshots
- Punching a tree without the proper tools can sprain your hand! Use proper tools to avoid injury!
Note: Mod is still in pre-release development, many features and progression are not yet finished, all non-release builds are intended to demo and showcase new features! The mod is aiming to be the most realistic and challenging survival mod in Minecraft, that will take players from the stone age to another solar system, that takes time to test and develop, please do not use this mod on your main world until production builds have been released! For now, feel free and download it and mess around with the different features! Development is currently focused on the stone age and will later progress to different eras.
