Devour the landscape. Restore what was lost. Summon a guardian—or open a doorway into another reality.

Grey Goo Redux brings ten distinct Goos to Minecraft, each with its own purpose and personality. Turn them loose to reshape terrain, grow a home, defend yourself, or discover two very different realms: the beautiful Heavenly Pocket Realm and the unsettling darkness of Negative Space.

Meet the Goos

• Grey Goo consumes eligible solid terrain, spreading through the world as a growing infestation.
• Void Goo spreads through blocks, liquids and open air, leaving emptiness behind.
• Prismatic Goo hunts unwanted Goo infestations and disappears when its work is finished.
• Water Goo drains connected bodies of water.
• Lava Goo drains connected lava.
• Terra Goo remembers a restoration area and repairs damaged original terrain while preserving construction in previously empty space.
• Hearth Goo grows a home from a selection of 30 designs, ranging from small shelters to mansions and an underwater station.
• Extraplanar Goo assembles a cosmic gateway to another dimension, restoring displaced terrain when recalled.
• Aetherial Goo summons four golden guardian swarms that fight, heal and offer protection from death.
• Predator Goo summons an invulnerable crimson eye that draws enemy attention, unleashes beams and gathers your spoils.

Predator: Your Crimson Guardian

Predator patrols within 64 blocks of your current position, prioritizing enemies attacking you, then bosses, then nearby threats. It follows through the air, water and lava, respecting solid obstacles and seeking a useful vantage point above its prey.

Once engaged, the eye can fire at several enemies simultaneously within 16 blocks, provided each target is visible. Every enemy receives its own full-strength beam. Each beam independently matches the combined offensive output of four Aetherial swarms.

Nearby hostiles—and creatures already attacking you—are drawn toward the eye, giving you room to breathe.

Collected items go directly into your personal 50-page, 2,700-slot Singularity storage. Experience goes straight to you. The storage includes sorting across every page, plus deposit and withdrawal controls for all items or matching items.

Negative Space

Recall Predator into a crimson gateway and enter a private chamber suspended in an impossible void.

Pitch-black boundaries surround an altar and its crimson Singularity. Jagged dimensional scars illuminate the floor, while harmless silhouettes briefly shimmer into existence with distorted echoes of familiar creatures.

Beyond the chamber lies animated television static, with a faint crimson tint beneath the horizon.

The chamber repairs itself after damage, including its central Singularity, while your stored inventory persists. You can still tunnel outside and explore—but falling too far sends you into a supported void or limbo dimension. Without a suitable destination installed, the Nether awaits. Temporary fall protection accompanies the crossing.

The Heavenly Pocket Realm

Aetherial Goo opens a golden gateway into a shared, infinitely generated world made for exploration, building and peaceful living.

Discover beautiful forests, flower fields, tropical landscapes and enchanting underground biomes. Supported biome mods expand the variety, while vanilla alternatives keep the realm available without them. Hostile creatures are blocked, and construction remains permanent: this realm behaves like a world you can call home.

Above the landscape, a brilliant golden star casts long shafts of light across whimsical clouds. Gentle golden particles drift through the open air, stopping at the ground, rooftops and water.

Cloud Islands and Rainbow Treasure

Build upon solid cloud islands, including expansive island chains connected to the surface by luminous, translucent rainbow stairways.

Follow a rainbow down to a heaping Pot of Gold, filled with randomized valuables and supported treasures from installed mods. Rainbow blocks also yield valuable vanilla resources when mined; Silk Touch lets you collect the rainbow blocks themselves.

The Elixir of Angels

Long, golden filaments appear and fade around the cloud islands, even in places you have already explored.

Harvest them for The Elixir of Angels, granting five minutes of regeneration, creative-style flight and 50% faster flying.

The Treasure Wand

Find a jeweled golden Treasure Wand in rainbow treasure pots, with a 10% chance of appearing.

Use it inside the Heavenly Pocket Realm to open a golden tear and travel to an undiscovered cloud island, complete with a rainbow leading to untouched treasure.

The wand has one use and is consumed only after a successful journey.

Divine Intervention

Aetherial’s emergency rescue consumes its four swarms and grants Divine Intervention for 90 seconds, temporarily preventing further Aetherial use.

If another lethal blow strikes during that time, you are transported high above the Heavenly Pocket Realm and protected during your descent. A temporary return gateway appears near your landing area, offering passage toward your Overworld bed or a surface location near the world’s center.

The gateway disappears after your return, and Aetherial becomes available again.

Gateways with a Purpose

Aetherial and Predator each have dedicated gateway menus with immersive controls and confirmation prompts.

When construction begins, your swarms or eye converge at the chosen location and become the gateway. They remain bound to it until you recall it.

Gateways can be established in suitable locations across dimensions. Construction and recall are disabled inside the two pocket realms, while existing return gateways remain usable.

Music for Another World

The Heavenly Pocket Realm features a celestial soundtrack of gentle melodies, choirs, bells and grand orchestral passages. Walking onto a rainbow bridge can queue Glorious Resolution, allowing it to begin and finish naturally.

Negative Space has its own unsettling collection of dark ambience, ritual percussion and distant sounds.

Ambient tracks play in randomized rotations, with 45–90 seconds of silence between songs. Volume follows Minecraft’s Music setting.

Getting Started

Your starter Ender Chest contains Goo seeds, a reusable selector and the Gooey Manual.

The manual explains each Goo, lists its crafting ingredients and recipes, and includes the available console commands. All ten Goo seeds also have thematic vanilla-only crafting-table recipes.

Grey and Void Goo can cause extensive terrain changes. Keep Prismatic Goo handy when experimenting!

LICENSE UPDATE
- This release adopts NoxDeimos Project License 1.0.
- Playing the mod, running servers, sharing configurations and distributing independently written compatibility patches are permitted.
- Modpack inclusion is permitted through downloads from official sources. Bundling the mod's JAR, reuploading it, or reusing its implementation code or assets requires express written permission, except where an earlier license, third-party license or applicable law independently grants that right.
- Earlier MIT permissions and separate third-party licenses remain in effect.
- The JAR includes the complete project license, license history, earlier license notice and embedded libraries' own notices. The mod's license declaration now matches the packaged license.
