Description
# Groszkowo Mod
Four systems that all talk to each other: disasters that reshape the world, weapons that behave like real objects, a creature that pretends to be your friend, and a village that reacts to what you do.
## Disasters
Seven of them, each a staged event rather than a one-off particle burst. Every disaster moves through **warning → buildup → peak → fade**, so you get time to react and time to watch it wind down.
- **Tornado** — a real entity that walks its own wandering path, sucks entities into a spiral and tears loose blocks off the ground.
- **Earthquake** — a shockwave that expands outward from the epicentre, cracks connected fault lines, and collapses unsupported blocks.
- **Meteor shower** — actual falling entities with a 3D model, fire trails and a rising approach whistle. They leave craters.
- **Flood** — water rises a layer at a time through a flood fill, so it flows around walls. **Every block it places is recorded and drained again** when the event ends.
- **Blizzard** — snow builds up layer by layer, water freezes, and anyone outdoors is slowed and frostbitten. Leather armour protects you.
- **Volcano** — a cone that is genuinely built up over the event, lobbing volcanic bombs and bleeding lava down its flanks.
- **Wildfire** — a live fire front that spreads along a drifting wind, follows real flammability values, and is put out by rain.
**One switch governs all of it.** `griefing = false` in the config makes every disaster purely visual: particles, sounds, screen shake, knockback and status effects, with no permanent block change anywhere. Safe to run on a public server.
Disasters can also fire on their own — a configurable chance, every so many minutes, near an inhabited area.
## Weapons
Fourteen, and every projectile is its own entity class with its own physics, 3D cuboid model, particle trail and synthesised sound. Nothing here is a re-skinned arrow.
**Melee** — Tremor Blade (shockwave on hit), Fissure Axe, Chaos Sword (eight-outcome effect table, one of which backfires), Storm Axe (right-click wind cone), Thunder Hammer (calls real lightning), Void Dagger (**true backstab**, measured against the victim's own facing, plus a blink behind your target).
**Ranged** — Tempest Bow (no arrows needed; a full draw fires a fan of three), Siege Crossbow (crank it once, then it fires instantly), Rocket Launcher (thrust, recoil, backblast, crater), Frag Grenade (bounces, cooks in your hand, **line-of-sight shrapnel with inverse-square falloff** so cover actually protects you), Railgun (charge up, punch through a line of enemies), Meteor Staff (calls real meteors down where the shard lands), Flamethrower (a continuous cone that walls stop), Proximity Mine (arms itself, ignores its owner, harder to trigger while sneaking).
All fourteen are craftable from vanilla materials, with a thirteen-step advancement tree.
## Shapeshifters and their planet
A cosmic mimic that is **born small and grows up**. Adults take the name and skin of players they kill — and damaging one tears the disguise. They hunt in packs, hold grudges against whoever hurt them, force doors, and chew through the wall if you brick them in.
Their world is reached through a **stone portal lit with a bucket of water**. The frame is validated by a genuine flood fill, so a hole in the wall fails instead of lighting a broken portal, and travelling always leaves a working return portal on the far side. The planet itself is a dusk-locked wasteland scattered with procedurally collapsed ruins, each holding a guarded loot vault.
## Smart villagers
Wired into the real vanilla `Brain`, not puppeted from outside.
- They run **before** anything hits them, and bunch together while fleeing.
- They head for the nearest doorway and get behind it.
- They bring food or tend your wounds when you turn up hurt or starving.
- Full `GossipManager` reputation: witnesses of an attack lose trust in the attacker, defending the village earns real standing.
- They **see through a shapeshifter's disguise** even when you cannot, and react to it.
- They check the neighbourhood before going to bed and refuse to sleep with something hostile nearby.
`/villagerai false` puts them back to plain vanilla instantly, no restart.
## Also
Optional global **no-despawn**: with `noDespawn = true`, no mob in any dimension ever despawns.
