Description

Original GregTech 5 description:

GregTech, created by GregoriusT, is a Mod that completely overhauls Minecraft, adding numerous Machines and Materials, as well as adjusting Recipes for existing Items in order to make them fit with its System. GregTech is meant to extend the Game by making things much less overpowered, more reasonable, and adding a lot of complex machines, as well as generally useful utility.

This project takes this onto modern Minecraft versions whilst improving many frankly stupid things gt5u did and integrating some changes from gt6 as well as integrating the new mc features as best as possible.
Here is a list of some of the biggest changes that make this different from gt5u:

  • Smelting mixed ores like magnetite and pyrite to ingots has been removed, that was the stupidest idea ever, you can still get ingots out of them if you use a roaster or a primitive blast furnace
  • No Bronze Blast furnace, instead you have to create a primitive blast furnace
  • added coke oven from gt6
  • Aluminium, Titanium, and Tungsten processing have changed to match gt6 processing steps
  • Aluminium no longer requires a blast furnace to smelt to ingots
  • Added proper vitriol and platinum group sludge prcessing from gt6
  • added some qol blocks from gt6, like drums, mass storages, lockers, crafting tables, chests
  • also added vanilla style item barrels to match with all the chests
  • added large tanks from gt6
  • made most single blockmachines only go up to ev. there are a couple that go up to iv, but nothing above IV other then transformers, hatches, ect.
  • added a few multiblock alternatives for several machines, like the large electrolyzer, large centrifuge, large autoclave, large pulverizer, ect. most of the new multiblocks have parallel processing
  • currently circuits are mostly based off gt6 and a little gt5, in 1.20 I will be adding 5u ciruit recipes as an option, though I personally hate them
  • chemical bath has been replaced with a gt6 style bath, it does not require any power because that is stupid, it just takes some time. there is also a multiblock version called the large bathing vat
  • added autocrafter based off gt6, also added my own multiblock autocrafter assembly line, for doing autocrafting and assembler recipes in bulk. Not to be confused with the Assembly line, which I have not added yet since there is currently no use for it.
  • Added a tree growth simulator multiblock
  • Instead of an ic2 fission reactor, gt5r has gt6 style fission reactors. They themselves are finished and working, but there are some blocks and covers I still need to add to be on par with what gt6 reactors allow you to do

That list doesn't contain all the changes that make it different from gt5u, i'm sure there are some i missed, and i've also been busy making more changes in the next upcoming version.

It's currently in alpha, so there likely will be bugs and unfinished content, but the mod does have mostly finished content up to EV, endgame content though like the fusion reactor and replication isn't quite finished yet.
