❤️ Hardcore Soulbound

Hardcore Soulbound is a plug-and-play Data Pack designed to play in small groups of players. The main quirk introduced is that, whenever a player dies, everyone starts from zero in a fresh new world.

100% Vanilla: No external mods or resource packs required.

✨ Main Features

#️⃣ Number of lives

By default, you lose when anyone dies for the first time. However, you can increase the number of lives to ease the challenge.

💔 Ultra hardcore mode

When enabled, natural regeneration is disabled, meaning that the only way to regenerate health is by consuming potions or eating golden apples.

💖 Maximum HP

To spice up the challenge, you can limit your health below 10 hearts.

🔗 Shared HP

When enabled, the health bar is shared between all players: in other words, whenever a player is damaged, everyone does and viceversa. Only for maniacs.

🚩 Goal

By default, the main goal is the same as vanilla Minecraft: beat the Ender Dragon. But you can play in 6 different ways:

  • Overworld. Get and equip a full Diamond armor set.
  • Nether. Obtain some Nether Wart and Blaze Rods.
  • End. Kill the Ender Dragon and cross the End Portal back to the Overworld.
  • Warden. Kill a Warden from the Deep Dark.
  • Wither. Kill a Wither Boss and obtain a Nether Star.
  • Ocean. Kill an Elder Guardian from a Monument.

🗃️ Statistics

For each attempt you play, statistics such as time spent, total damage taken, mobs killed and whether you won or lose is stored and can be displayed in any moment.

🌐 Language

This Data Pack is available in both English and Spanish. You can change between this languages in-game through the Configuration menu printed in chat.

Additionally, you can enable automatic world restart when a player dies, easily change the vanilla game's difficulty and transfer the Admin role (the one that can start games and change the config) to another player.

⬇️ How to Install

In order to start playing:

  1. Press the 'Download' button from this page.
  2. Go to Minecraft and select 'Create New World'.
  3. Click the 'More' tab and then the 'Data Packs' button.
  4. Click the 'Open Pack Folder' button and move the downloaded ZIP to this folder.
  5. Click 'Done' and 'Create New World' to start playing.

Since this is a multiplayer gamemode, you'll need to install this Data Pack on a server or play in a singleplayer world through LAN or modded peer-to-peer connections. To install it on a server, simply use the created world following the previous steps or move the downloaded ZIP file to the datapacks folder of the server's world.

The Data Pack has only been tested in a vanilla server, so it is unknown if some errors could arise in servers with custom software, such as Paper or Spigot.

⚙️ Use and Configuration

Everything described above can be configured in-game by the Admin clicking in the chat. To open the main Data Pack menu, press G or click the custom "Hardcore Soulbound" button in the ESC menu.

In-game Data Pack Menu UI

Once you are there, there are some options to:

  • Start a New Game or end the current one.
  • Open the Configuration menu in the chat.
  • Display Statistics from all previous games.
  • Uninstall the Data Pack. This action removes every modification made by the Data Pack from the world, but does not include player actions.
