Description
Hearthwild
Read the weather. Find shelter. Keep the fire alive.
Hearthwild adds a focused, vanilla-friendly exposure system to Minecraft survival. The cold is no longer just scenery: freezing biomes, storms, wet clothes, powder snow, open skies, and long nights steadily wear you down. Smart preparation matters, but the system remains readable, configurable, and fair.
Survival that rewards good decisions
- Environmental exposure reacts to biome temperature, weather, water, powder snow, time of day, and whether you are under cover.
- Five condition stages progress from Comfortable to Critical with clear warnings and escalating consequences.
- Real shelter value means a roof, a cave, or a carefully chosen campsite can make the difference.
- Meaningful heat sources include lit campfires and furnaces, fire, lava, magma, and Hearthwild's Ember Brazier.
- Leather armor matters as practical cold-weather clothing instead of being immediately obsolete.
New survival gear
- Trail Thermometer — reports your exposure, recovery trend, biome temperature index, and immediate danger.
- Heat Pack — an emergency consumable that rapidly reverses exposure for a configurable duration.
- Thermal Lining — passive inventory insulation crafted from wool, leather, and string.
- Ember Brazier — a permanent, luminous mid-game heat source for serious wilderness camps.
Designed for real worlds
Hearthwild is server-authoritative and supports both single-player and multiplayer. Creative and spectator players are ignored. Server owners receive a straightforward properties file for exposure rate, recovery, heat radius, Heat Pack duration, insulation strength, critical damage, and warning frequency. Every numeric setting is clamped to a safe range.
