Description
Overview and Lore
The Heirloom Sword is an ancient, semi-sentient large estoc. It is a long-forgotten family heirloom belonging to a vampire. It has been infused with magical properties, allowing it to function both as a standard melee weapon and as a flying companion controlled through telekinesis.
Acquisition
The item is uncraftable. It has a 2.5% chance to generate as loot inside chests found in Ancient Cities.
Mechanics and Controls
The weapon features two modes (Held and Flying) powered by mana.
Held Mode
In this mode, the weapon functions as a normal sword with a large reach.
- Warp Step (V): Teleport next to a targeted enemy within 20 blocks. This consumes 10 mana and has a 5-second cooldown.
Flying Mode
Pressing F summons the sword into its flying mode. The first summon activates a slow, ceremonial descent, while subsequent summons call the sword quicker. If underground, the sword will materialize out of mana.
- Launch (Left-Click): Throws the sword in a straight line (max ~70 blocks), damaging and piercing entities in its path. If it hits a solid block, it gets stuck in the block.
- Recall (R): Recall the sword mid-flight or after it gets stuck.
- Charge (Hold Left-Click): Drains mana to charge a faster, higher-damage launch. Can pin larger enemies to a wall behind them.

- Tether Pull (Hold Left-Click while stuck): Telekinetically grip the sword and pull yourself towards it.

- Guard (G): The sword enters a blocking stance in front of the player, acting as a shield and deflecting physical damage and projectiles. Releasing G performs a frontal counter-slash. If mana is depleted while blocking, a guard break lockout occurs.

- Quick-Fire (V): Fires the sword as a homing projectile at the nearest hostile entity. Also players.

- Sweep (Right-Click): Spins the sword in front of the player. Moving the crosshair swings the sword to deal contact damage. Releasing right-click flings the sword based on your swing's momentum. (May also be used to mow grass, bamboo, cobwebs, seaweed and vines).

Mana System
- Max Mana: 100
- Regeneration: 0.6 mana per tick. (12 per second)
- Regen Delay: Spending mana pauses regeneration for 20 ticks (1 second).
- Lockout: If mana reaches zero, a 40-tick (2-second) lockout is triggered, during which all telekinetic abilities are disabled.
Cosmetic
The command /heirloom show toggles between showing the "sheathed" blade on the players back.

There are environmental reactions, idle animations, item-loss protection mechanisms, achievements and blood mechanics that can be discovered during gameplay.
Many things may be adjusted to your liking in the config file.
