🏛️ Hearth & Heritage
389 detailed decorations and 8 cultural landmarks for vanilla Minecraft. Including resource pack.
Furnish your home with chairs, sofas, lamps, rugs, bookcases and potted plants. Fill a museum with dinosaur skeletons, golden crowns and ancient amphorae. Light a paper lantern in your tea garden or hang a round shield in your longhouse. Every decoration is a real 3D model built from vanilla blocks, so it works on any server and in any world.

✋ Using them
- Place a decoration like any block. It turns to face you; wall decorations hang on the wall you click, and ceiling lights hang from the block above.
- Hit twice to pick it up again (once in Creative).
- Right-click to use it: sit on chairs, sofas and benches; switch lamps, lanterns and fires on and off; ring the gong, play the piano, run the tap.
- Sneak + right-click to turn it by 45°. Three-block pieces (sofas, the banquet table, the market stall, the park bench and the raptor skeleton) turn only when you place them.
- Tables, counters, crates, plinths and bookcases are solid, and you can put other decorations on top of them.
- Rugs and carpets can go under your furniture: hold a decoration and right-click the rug to place it on top. (Pick the rug up first if you want to build on that spot with ordinary blocks.)
- Long sofas and benches seat three: each right-click takes the free seat nearest to you.
🛠️ Getting them
- Stonecutter: every decoration is crafted from one item in a stonecutter. Wooden furniture comes from planks, textiles from wool, and the rest from a fitting material (a clock for the grandfather clock, gold for the golden crown, bone blocks for the fossils…).
- The catalogue: every player receives the Heritage Catalogue book on their first join. Click any entry to buy it for a few emeralds; in Creative it's free. Type
/trigger hh.bookfor a new copy. - Exploration: the landmarks are full of decorations to pick up, and their chests contain more.
🗺️ Cultural landmarks
| Landmark | Where to find it | What's inside |
|---|---|---|
| Roadside Museum | Plains and forests | A columned museum with a T-rex and a mammoth, a Hall of Deep Time, a Hall of Civilisations, a curator's office, a gift shop and a giant roadside dinosaur |
| Ancestral Encampment | Snowy plains, snowy taiga, groves | An abandoned Stone Age camp: a painted rock shelter, mammoth-bone huts, a stone hearth, a shrine and an archaeological dig with suspicious gravel |
| Megalith Sanctuary | Meadows, windswept hills | A great henge with lintels, trilithons and an avenue of runestones, plus a chambered barrow to explore |
| Desert Caravanserai | Deserts, badlands | A fortified Silk Road inn: domed towers, a courtyard with a fountain and palms, a bazaar, an antiquities dealer, stables and a roof terrace |
| Lantern Tea Garden | Cherry groves, flower forests, birch forests | A five-tiered pagoda you can climb (a library, a tea room, a shrine and a gong on its upper floors), a koi pond with a red arched bridge, a tea house, a rock garden, a lantern-lit path and cherry trees |
| Norse Steading | Taiga forests | A great longhouse with a throne and a long hearth, a smithy, a storehouse on stilts and a shield-lined longship in its boat shed, inside a palisade |
| Jungle Step Temple | Jungles | A stepped pyramid with a grand staircase, colossal stone heads, a ball court, a cenote, thatched village huts and a hidden tomb |
| Forum Ruins | Savannas | A ruined temple with a seated cult statue, a colonnade of shops, a market plaza with stalls and a fountain, a library and a villa with a dolphin mosaic |
Operators can find them with /locate structure heritage:roadside_museum (or ancestral_encampment, megalith_sanctuary, desert_caravanserai, lantern_tea_garden, norse_steading, jungle_step_temple, forum_ruins).
⚙️ Compatibility
- Minecraft Java 1.21 and 1.21.1, singleplayer and servers. Data pack only.
- Landmarks only appear in newly generated chunks.
- Decorations are display entities; a full museum is about 3,500 of them. Servers run it comfortably, but very old PCs may notice a few FPS less inside the biggest landmarks.
🧹 Uninstalling
Run /function heritage:admin/uninstall, then remove the data pack. Decorations already placed stay in the world as entities; pick them up first if you want them gone.
🙏 Notes
Decorations can't hold items and have no storage. Anyone can pick up a decoration (there is no ownership), and /kill @e will remove them like any other entity.
