Datapack Title/Logo

Aiming to increase the vanilla world height limit, Higher Heights lets you achieve that through a datapack, ranging from 1.17 to the latest releases, this datapack will help you achieve EPIC heights on your builds while remaining vanilla accesible, meaning that any vanilla player in the right version can join your world or play it by downloading it!

The datapack versions can increase your world height limit from 384 blocks (Vanilla Overworld Height) to 512, 1024, 2032, and even 4064 blocks (It's the vanilla limit within datapack capabilities). Meaning that the absolute maximum height achievable with the datapack (4064 version) is the following:

  • Overworld: 4064 blocks (from y=-2032 to y=2032)
  • The Nether: 2032 blocks (from y=0 to y=2032)
  • The End: 4064 (from y=-2032 to = 2032)

Fun fact: The End pillars extend all the way to y=-2032 in the 4064 block version of the datapack XD

⚠︎Please take into account that once you load into a world with this datapack, it will be very difficult to remove it from the save without causing corruption, due to how Minecraft handles chunk saving⚠︎

⚠︎PLEASE DO NOT use the 4064 Height Limit version for "Default/Amplified/Single Biome" world presets (These worlds generate bedrock on y=-64, wasting height limit and thus performance, as well as causing bugs with nether travel, Or use it at your own risk). Superflat worlds work just fine with it. The other Height versions do not experience this problem⚠︎

⚠︎The datapack most probably will affect mob spawning⚠︎

⚠︎The Nether cannot go above y=2032 or below y=0 (sorry)⚠︎

⚠︎Please make world backups frequently⚠︎

To this date, there is a ~big chance that the world height limit won't change again and/or the ability to increase it even more, so this is your safe way to build some nice skyscrapers, or absolutely anything that comes to your mind.

It probably/will cause lag, so be careful with your render distance, and I'd recommend using a performance improving mod or modpack, like Fabulously Optimized

Note that the world won't generate with the build limit, so it will be a normal world (small mountains), though I'm currently (very slowly :P) finding a way to generate absolutely gigantic mountains through the increased height limit.

I'll make sure to update the datapack to the newest release.

This is a datapack originally posted on PlanetMC, I am the author and I will update this datapack and it's versions frequently.

I ported this on modrinth for you to be able to dowload different versions of the datapack. You can request one height <4064 and I'll try to make it a downloadable version.

I made this datapack because at the time (1.20 release), there were no working datapacks that increased the world height

Thank you for your preference :D

Update א: Major problems with lower versions not verifying have been solved (some of them still need rework)

Ultimate Update: 1.17 Integration, New Pack.png's and Logo + Datapack Validation Fix

More to come (Upcoming Minecraft Updates), Minor datapack updates
