Description

This small mod allows integration of modded biomes into the Highlands mod world type (that otherwise would only have built-in outdated Biomes O'Plenty integration).

*** For more than 10 years I've been longing to have both Extrabiomes XL and Highlands worldtype for my 1.7.10 modpacks, that I still enjoy playing with my family. However, the existing options (utilizing biomes id conflicts to add Highlands biomes to the overworld, using Climate Control, which worldgen I dislike and so on) I grew so tired and desperate. So I had to take everything in my hands (once again!). This mod is kinda a small vacation-evening project for a family use. But I think, it might be useful for some old geeks like us too :-D

Unlike the existing old mod Highlands Integrator, that pioneered this idea, but had built-in support for only Thaumcraft and Buildcraft (and non-working theoretical manual integration for any biome id...), this mod tried it's best to create working integration for most popular mods, that could be easily configured through user-friendly config files.

*I'd like to thank the GTNewHorizons team for creating the example mdk project and maintaining working sources for 1.7.10 modding! Without you, guys, the golden age would be lost forever.

Currently this mod provides integration for essential overworld mods :

  • Biomes O'Plenty v.2.1.0.2038 (Dense Forest, Xeric Shrubland, Land of Lakes. Eucaliptus Forest, Orchard as a separate biome)
  • Extrabiomes XL
  • Enhanced biomes
  • Ars Magica 2
  • Twilight Forest (disabled by default in the config file)
  • Thaumcraft
  • Buildcraft

Configuration :

  1. Install the Highlands mod + HighlandsForAll mod, run the game, let the config files generate, quit
  2. Go to the config folder to the config/HighlandsForAll folder and open the desired mod's file
  3. Tweak true/false for biomes you want to enable/disable
  4. Go to the Highlands/BiomeWeighting config file, open it and you'll see all the new biomes listed there- tweak whatever weights you want! Don't forget to enable BOP biomes in the Highlands worlds in the general.cfg, if you want other BOP biomes too.
  5. Run the game and create a new world!

In case of any problems:

  1. Delete the HighlandsForAll configs and regenerate fresh ones; delete the Highlands BiomeWeighting.cfg and regenerate fresh one.
  2. Tell me about the problem, if the problem persists!

This mod is in Beta.

Which mods I cannot/won't provide integration for * :

* most mods are from other dimensions

  • Aether - has only 1 biome and non-relevant here
  • Atum - has only 1 biome and non-relevant here
  • Betweenlands - biomes do not generate properly in the overworld, they are not populated
  • Abyssal Craft - biomes do not generate properly in the overworld, they are not populated
  • Tropicraft - biomes do not generate properly in the overworld, they are not populated
  • Erebus - biomes do not generate properly in the overworld, they are not populated
  • Sugi Forest - ignores my attempts to add biomes 100% of the time
  • Ridiculous World - ignores my attempts to add biomes 100% of the time
  • Satisforestry - crashes for me every time, so I cannot even test my code
