About
Description
Volca's Cobblemon Remixed is a server-side progression mod for Cobblemon on NeoForge 1.21.1. It turns a standard Cobblemon world into a structured trainer journey with ranks, gated items, party limits, and level caps — so players earn power instead of getting everything on day one.
Trainer Ranks & Level Caps
Climb through 10 Trainer Ranks, each tied to story milestones and rank-up battles. Your rank sets a Pokémon level cap (20 at Rank I up to 100 at Rank IX/X). Pokémon above your cap won't gain experience, can't be boosted with rare candies, and won't obey if sent into battle.
Research Ranks & Task Progression
Parallel to Trainer Rank is a Research Rank system built around four ongoing goals:
- Capture Pokémon
- Evolve Pokémon
- Explore unique biomes
- Register species in the Pokédex
Complete all four tasks in a tier to advance your Research Rank and unlock new categories of items. A built-in Research Progress screen shows your current tier and progress toward each goal.
Gated Item Unlocks
Items are locked behind Research Rank, including:
- Rank II — Great Balls, Safari Balls, and other mid-tier Poké Balls
- Rank III — Vitamins, feathers, and most training items
- Rank IV — Held items and Terastallization (Tera Orbs & shards)
- Rank V — Mega Evolution, Dynamax, and Z-Move gear (Mega Showdown)
- Rank VI — Beast Ball and late-game capture tools
- Rank VIII — Stellar Tera Shards, Master Ball, and Origin Ball
Items you haven't earned yet can't be used — held items, Poké Balls, experience candies, and more are blocked server-side with clear feedback.
Party Slot Progression
Players start with 2 unlocked party slots (configurable) instead of a full team of 6. Unlock more slots by progressing:
- Craft a Pokédex
- Complete your first Evolution milestone
- Reach Trainer Rank II
- Reach Trainer Rank III
Locked slots are enforced server-side — Pokémon can't stay in, move to, or swap through locked slots.
Advancements & Tracking
A full advancement tree tracks Trainer Ranks, Research Ranks, and all four task categories across nine tiers (plus endgame ranks). Progress syncs automatically from gameplay.
Admin Tools
Server operators get commands to manage progression:
/partyslots slots <1-6>— set a player's unlocked party slots/partyslots unlockall— grant all 6 slots/partyslots trainerrank set— set Trainer Rank/partyslots research— open a player's research progress UI
Requirements
- Required: Cobblemon
- Optional but supported: Cobblemon Mega Showdown, SimpleTMs, Accessories
Designed for multiplayer servers and progression-focused survival worlds. Single-player works too, but the systems shine when everyone is on the same journey.
