Schleimy's Hordes
Schleimy's Hordes is the ultimate zombie survival challenge! This mod adds 9 highly intelligent, distinct zombie hordes that randomly assault you during the night. Featuring custom AI, dynamic spawning rules, and a built-in performance engine, this mod guarantees intense gameplay without sacrificing your FPS.
Available for both Fabric 1.20.1 and NeoForge 1.21.1.
🌙 Nightly Assaults & Fair Spawning
Hordes don't just spawn constantly; they are perfectly balanced to keep you on your toes:
- Night-Only Spawns: Hordes will only attack between sunset and sunrise.
- Early Game Protection: During your 1st and 2nd night in a new world, you are almost completely safe (only a 0.01% chance of an attack).
- Randomized Attacks: Starting from the 3rd night, there is a random 35% chance each night that a horde will strike.
- 30-Second Warning: You will receive a terrifying gold warning message in the chat exactly 30 seconds before the horde arrives, giving you just enough time to prepare your defenses!
🧟 The 9 Unique Hordes
Every attack features one of 9 distinct horde types. Each requires a completely different strategy to survive:
- ⛏️ The MINER Horde: You cannot hide. These zombies wield pickaxes and have a custom AI that allows them to literally mine through blocks and walls to reach you. No bunker is safe!
- ⚔️ The WARRIOR Horde: A fast, hard-hitting swarm of melee fighters armed with various swords and speed buffs.
- 🛡️ The KNIGHT Horde: Heavily armored tanks wielding heavy weapons and shields. They have permanent Resistance II, making them incredibly hard to kill.
- 🔥 The PYROMANCER Horde: A terrifying swarm of burning zombies. They are completely immune to fire, permanently on fire themselves, and will set you ablaze on every hit.
- 🪓 The BERSERKER Horde: Fast, leaping attackers wielding heavy axes that can disable your shields. Buffed with Speed II, Strength II, and Jump Boost II.
- 👻 The GHOST Horde: Completely invisible assassins. The only thing you will see in the dark is a swarm of floating swords rushing towards you.
- 🧱 The TANK Horde: Extremely slow, but practically indestructible. Clad in Netherite/Diamond armor with heavy resistance effects.
- 🥷 The NINJA Horde: Invisible, hyper-agile assassins wearing only leather helmets. They have Speed III and Jump Boost III to easily leap over your walls.
- 🧨 The BOMBER Horde: Absolute chaos. These fast zombies carry TNT on their heads and will literally throw primed TNT at you that explodes instantly on impact!
⚡ Schleimy's Performance Engine (50+ FPS Boost)
Massive zombie hordes usually cause immense lag—but not with this mod! Schleimy's Performance Engine is built directly into the mod to guarantee high FPS and TPS:
- AI Pathfinding Throttling: Mobs that are far away from the player use 75% less CPU power for their AI processing.
- Dynamic Entity Culling: The engine automatically stops rendering entities that are further than 48 blocks away, massively boosting your client-side FPS.
⚙️ Fully Configurable
Everything is fully configurable via the /hordes command in-game or the hordes.json config file:
- Trigger manual hordes (
/hordes start <type>) - Adjust the nightly attack chance (
/hordes chance <0.0 - 1.0>) - Configure the Performance Engine (
/hordes performance toggle)
