Hyclrometallurgy,the process of leaching copper from copper ore or copper concentrate with a leaching agent, and then using chemical extraction or electrolytic extraction to obtain metallic copper from the purified leachate. Its contents involve copper ore leaching, copper solvent extraction, copper replacement precipitation, copper electrolytic deposition, etc. Wet copper smelting is an ancient method of copper smelting. According to historical records, the method of extracting copper from the solution of copper sulfate by replacing iron with iron, the so-called bile copper method, has been applied to production during the period of Wang Anshi in the Northern Song Dynasty of China
