Description
IllusionIndex
IllusionIndex is a client-side Forge mod for Minecraft 1.8.9, created by EndWithMe. It renders invisible players as semi-transparent silhouettes and notifies the player through chat when an invisible player enters attack range.
Features
Invisible player rendering. When a player is invisible, their entity is no longer hidden. Instead, it is shown as a semi-transparent silhouette. The silhouette does not show the original skin color and uses a configurable base color, which defaults to pure black. Opacity defaults to 80% and can be adjusted.
Afterimages. When an invisible player moves, fading afterimages are left behind. The number of afterimages and their linger time are configurable.
Observe toggle. The mod provides an independent toggle for observing invisible players. When turned off, the live silhouette stops rendering, but afterimages continue to work normally.
Chat alert. When an invisible player enters attack range, a red bold message appears in chat in the format [IIndex]:Spotted an invisible player! ID: player name.
Config GUI
Press I by default to open the config GUI. The key can be customized. The interface uses a semi-transparent rounded black-and-white card style with white edges, a black background, and a pop-up animation. It is divided into three cards: Render Settings, Afterimage Settings, and General Settings. Controls include toggle switches, sliders, and a color picker. The color picker provides sixteen preset swatches and supports hexadecimal color input. The interface supports keyboard navigation. Use Tab to switch focus, arrow keys to adjust sliders, Enter to confirm, and Esc to close. All settings are saved in the config file and apply instantly.
Installation
Place the mod file into the mods folder of a Forge 1.8.9 client. The mod is client-side only and does not need to be installed on the server.
Known limitations
Sleeping players are drawn standing.
