This mod adds a craftable light source that has no standing item, can be placed on floors, walls and ceilings. Water will not destroy it.

Inlight

Inlight is a lightweight mod that adds a simple way to illuminate your builds with invisible light sources.

It is useful for lighting rooms, pathways, ceilings, and underwater builds while keeping their appearance clear of visible lighting fixtures.

 

 

Crafting Recipe

Combine 2 Glowstone Dust and 2 Redstone Dust in this diagonal pattern:

   

The recipe works in both the 2×2 inventory crafting grid and a 3×3 crafting table, producing 4 Inlight.

 

 

How to Use

Hold Inlight and right-click a solid supporting face to place an invisible light source. You can attach it to floors, walls, or ceilings, including underwater surfaces.

Each successful placement consumes one Inlight in Survival mode.

 

Features

  • Light level 14, matching a vanilla torch.
  • Invisible when placed, with no visible model or selection outline.
  • No collision, allowing players and entities to pass through.
  • Supports underwater placement.
  • Flowing water and lava cannot wash it away.
  • Prevents snow accumulation where its light is sufficient, following vanilla lighting rules.

Removing a Light Source

Place a solid block in the light source’s space, or break the block supporting it. Removing the source does not return the consumed Inlight.

 

Everything was created using AI, I don't know how to code or design, but I can dream, and its great to be able to put my ideas in practice and continue enriching Minecraft with mods.

This mod will be available for other versions of Minecraft in the future.
