Description
Inner Voice is a Forge 1.20.1 client‑side mod that displays floating, typewriter‑style “inner voice” text in the world when you fight or approach specified mobs, and can also assign custom BGM with synchronized lyrics/subtitles to each mob.

How to use it
-
After installing, press the default
Okey to open the in‑game visual configuration GUI. -
In the GUI, search and select a mob, enable/disable its inner voice, set the trigger range, choose a BGM file (place
.oggor.mp3inconfig/inner_voice/music/), edit the inner voice text (one line per sentence), and preview the effect. -
Subtitle files (
.lrcor.srt) with the same name as the music file and placed in the same folder are loaded automatically; embedded lyrics in OGG/MP3 are also supported. -
In‑game, when the mob enters the range, the inner voice text appears as world text (or HUD) with typing, floating, and fade‑out animations; if BGM is configured, it plays with time‑synchronized subtitles.
Configuration file features
-
All configuration is stored under
.minecraft/config/inner_voice/. -
entities/contains individual.tomlconfig files per mob (auto‑generated by the GUI). -
The client config
inner_voice-client.tomlallows you to adjust: -
displayMode:WORLD(default) orHUD. -
worldMinTextDistance/worldMaxTextDistance: visible distance range for world‑text display. -
subtitleLanguage:AUTO(prefer translation),ORIGINAL,TRANSLATION, orBOTH. -
subtitleOffsetMs: global subtitle offset in milliseconds (negative = earlier, positive = later).
_______________________________Inner Voice 1.1.0 Changelog
## New Features
- Added an in-game visual editor to configure entities, biomes, and structures, including their enabled status, music, text, and phases.
- Added configurable health phases for entities, supporting different text and BGM based on health thresholds.
- Added biome BGM and text configuration, supporting custom music playback and subtitle or inner voice text display when entering a biome.
- Added structure BGM and text configuration, supporting both vanilla and modded structures, with priority higher than biomes but lower than entities.
- Added day/night phases, allowing biomes and structures to be configured separately for all-day, daytime, and nighttime music and text.
- Added a music pack directory `config/inner_voice/music_packs` for easy centralized management of songs in modpacks.
- Added MP3 support, along with support for `.lrc`/`.srt` subtitle files with the same name, OGG embedded lyrics, and MP3 ID3 lyrics.
- Added subtitle language modes: Auto, Original, Translation, and Bilingual.## Improvements
- World text is now the default display mode, with text generated in front of the player's view instead of being fixed to follow the player.
- Entity world text now adjusts its size based on the entity's collision box, with random size, angle, and slight floating effects.
- Biome and structure world text use configured distance and size, randomly generated in front of the player's view.
- HUD text animations are now consistent with world text, including typewriter effect, fade-out, and slight floating.
- Music playback now uses a custom audio engine, reducing overlap with vanilla music and supporting fade-in and fade-out.
- Priority order adjusted to: Entity > Structure > Biome.
- Added a 5-second stabilization delay when switching entities, structures, or biomes to prevent frequent song changes while passing through.
- Structure detection now checks for nearby structures instead of only the block directly beneath the player.
- Biomes and structures now support either immediate song switching or waiting for the current song to finish before switching.
- The editor now supports filtering, copying, pasting, multi-selection, phase paging, and scrollbar dragging.## Fixes
- Fixed world text being incorrectly generated above the player's head or following the player's movement.
- Fixed world text appearing too close to the camera, clipping into the ground, or being overly obstructed by blocks.
- Fixed subtitles continuing to be misplaced after opening the pause screen.
- Fixed biome music playing incorrectly and old subtitles lingering after entering a new environment.
- Fixed structures being detected but the client still using the biome's music target.
- Fixed nighttime structure phases not taking effect due to unstable day/night detection.
- Fixed structures being connected at runtime but still showing "Not yet integrated" in the editor.
- Fixed the default configuration causing all entities to display the default text.
