Inspirations (Unofficial Port)
📜 Original mod
This is an unofficial port of Inspirations 1.5.0 by KnightMiner (Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge). Original source: github.com/KnightMiner/Inspirations, license MIT, which allows derivative works; its license text and copyright are kept with the port. All of the content, art and ideas are the original author's.
How this port differs from the original
- Runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge; the original stops at 1.20.1 Forge. All of its content is kept.
- Nothing else to install: the original needs the library Mantle, which has no release for 1.21; this port bundles Kilnwork, built from the parts of Mantle that Inspirations needs.
- Fixes open issues of the original and bugs found while porting (listed in the port's README).
Shelves, ropes, colored books, cauldrons full of soup and dye, redstone tools and many small vanilla tweaks.
Inspirations by KnightMiner stopped at Forge 1.20.1, and its library Mantle has no release for Minecraft 1.21. This port brings all of its content to NeoForge 1.21.1 with nothing else to install, fixes the open bugs of the original, and 1.20.1 worlds carry over.

Features
Five modules; every feature can be turned off in config/inspirations-common.toml or inspirations-server.toml.
- Building: shelves that take the texture of any slab and show their books and items (and power enchanting tables), colored books, rope and vine rope, climbable iron bars, glass doors and trapdoors, mulch, stone paths, new flowers, enlightened bushes.
- Utility: collector (a hopper that faces any way and picks up items in front of it), pipe, torch levers, carpeted trapdoors and pressure plates, trapped book, dispensers that fill and empty tanks.
- Tools: locks and keys, redstone charger and charged arrows, north compass, barometer, photometer, dimension compass; more enchantments for shields and axes.
- Tweaks: carpets that fit to stairs, waterlogged hoppers, cactus and sugar cane seeds, heartbeets, more bonemeal uses, colored portals, tinted lectern books and more.
- Cauldrons: boiling water, cauldrons of dye, potions, milk, honey and soups; dye and wash items, brew potions and tip arrows in the cauldron.
- 7 languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (Simplified).

Versions
- 1.21.1 — NeoForge 21.1.197+, Java 21
Nothing else needed: Kilnwork, built from the parts of Mantle that Inspirations needs, ships inside the jar. Optional: JEI.
Installation
- Put the jar into
mods/on the server and on every client. - Shelves, enlightened bushes, cauldrons and the items in them of 1.20.1 worlds are read and converted.
What was fixed
- Item duplication: two collectors could pick up the same dropped item (#227).
- Crashes with mods that change cauldrons or iron bars (#245, #250): the port changes the vanilla blocks with mixins instead of registry substitutions.
- A crash while chunks build: block colors and shelf models were cached in maps read by many threads at once.
- No JEI recipe for shelves (#247); honey in the
c:honeyfluid tag (#226); shelves could not be turned off; skull, web and flower drops were never added; shearing vines worked the wrong way round; potion clouds applied their effects twice; and more.
Performance
Stress-tested with 1024 shelves full of books and 96 cauldrons: 235 FPS against 253 on an empty floor; 64 shelves and 32 cauldrons changing every tick run smoothly.
