Inventory Buttons (Unofficial Port)
A Fabric mod that brings the popular Inventory Buttons feature from NotEnoughUpdates (NEU) to modern Minecraft on Fabric.
This mod is available for 1.21.1, 1.21.8, 1.21.11.
Features
- Quick Inventory Access: Add customizable buttons to your inventory and chest GUIs for quick actions.
- Editor Mode: Move, edit, and manage buttons in-game to fit your layout.
- Profiles and Per-Server Layouts: Save button presets and keep separate layouts for different servers.
- Fabric Port: Native support for Minecraft 1.21.1 using the Fabric Mod Loader.
Mod Commands
Use /invbuttons or /inventorybuttons to open the mod's main menu.
From there you can:
- Open the config screen for general QoL settings
- Open the button editor
- Open the config folder
You can also jump straight into the editor with /invbuttons edit or /inventorybuttons edit.
Project Changes
This fork currently includes the following project-specific changes:
- Minecraft 1.21.1 support: Updated and maintained for modern Fabric on Minecraft 1.21.1.
- Per-server button layouts: Button setups can be stored separately for different multiplayer servers.
- No forced slash commands: Button actions can send either commands or plain chat messages instead of always forcing a leading
/. - Modernized build setup: The repository is configured to build through the included Gradle wrapper for the current toolchain.
Building From Source
Use the Gradle wrapper that ships with the repository:
./gradlew build
Using a system-installed gradle can fail if it is older than the version required by the current Fabric Loom plugin. This project currently expects Gradle 9.2+ through the wrapper.
Installation
Install Fabric
- Download the Fabric Installer from the Fabric download page
- Open the installer and select the desired Minecraft version, loader version (latest recommended), and install location (default recommended).
- Press Install

Install Inventory Buttons Mod
- Download the latest
.jarfile from the Releases page. - Place the downloaded
.jarfile into your.minecraft/modsfolder. - Launch the game!
