Description

Text formatted in three rows like a Minecraft update title: (row 1, tilted back, iron block) Iron, (row 2, tilted forward, minecraft cake) Wit, (row 3, small text, purplish text on dark background) Giving Nitwits a Purpose. Updated 19 September 2026. Works with 26.3; should work with everything from 1.21.2, but not guaranteed. If you find any that don't let me know.

Purpose

Villager nitwits currently have little purpose in-game. This data pack remedies that by making them a sustainable source of iron.

Directions for Use

  1. Install data pack.
  2. Get a nitwit to stand over a hopper.

Notes

Nitwits must be between 0 and 0.5 blocks above a hopper to drop iron. All nitwits over hoppers will drop iron at the same time. The data pack should require that nitwits be 16 blocks apart to more closely simulate fear-based iron farms.
