About

Description

Standalone mod that allows for the use of chat formatting using Discord's prefixes + a few custom ones!

This mod allows you to use Minecraft's Italic, Bold, Italic&Bold, Underline, Strikethrough, and Obfuscated text formats and any combination of them while chatting through the use of the following prefixes:
* : Italic
** : Bold
*** : Italic&Bold
__ : Underline

-- : Strikethrough

### : Obfuscated

I consider Minecraft's default way of chatting to be very bare-bones, it has all of these different styles already implemented into the game although you're only able to use them through plugins, or the use of the /tellraw command. This mod changes that for anyone with it installed.

When someone chats: *sigh* It is **Important** that you __comprehend__.

Players using Italica will see: sigh It is Important that you comprehend.

Italica follows most of discord's rules when formatting your text, since we consider them to be incredibly intuitive and a vast majority of online users are already accustomed to them, this means it is incredibly easy to chat using Italica's prefixes! Instead of having to memorize a new way of formatting your text, you can just appy your current knowledge to Minecraft!

As of now, Italica only works on the client, meaning that only Italica users will be able to see the new text formatting in action, although you can expect a server-side port in future versions!

For people really interested on how Italica works you can:

  • Infinately stack prefixes: **Why must __you__ do this?** => Why must you do this?
  • Empty prefixes will not be formatted meaning: sorry* => sorry*
  • Prefixes inside of your nickname will not affect your text.
  • Italica also works inside of /tellraw!

For people interested in upcoming features:

  • More prefixes! Such as: ```, `, \\,>>
  • You'll also be able to use colors in your text formatting!
  • Able to click chat links!
  • A config option to customize how Italica works.
  • Server-side Italica port.

If you want to see the progress on Italica's future updates, as well as my other projects, consider joining my discord server! https://discord.gg/bZtTGKkBgp

I hope you can use Italica to further enrich your communication across Minecraft!
