Description

《▓ Immersive Weathering: Tweaks ▓》

Powered by Quantified API

《▒ What It Does ▒》

Immersive Weathering: Tweaks is a lightweight performance addon that makes Immersive Weathering's area checks, growth processing, and weathering logic a LOT less heavy.

Normally, Immersive Weathering creates a ton of temporary position lists and objects while checking nearby blocks. IWT replaces most of that with reusable packed templates and per-thread scratch buffers.

This substantially reduces memory usage and GC pressure in the affected systems, while also making the actual checks faster.

Quantified API safely prepares the known templates in the background during startup, while the main performance improvement comes from reusing those templates during gameplay.

Same checks, same order, same results. Just faster, lighter, and a lot less wasteful. Simple as that xd

《▒ Performance ▒》

Metric Normal IW With IWT Gain
Largest area check 19.736 µs 10.036 µs 1.97x faster
Memory allocated per check 15,920 B 24.46 B -99.85%
10,000 area checks 159.2 MB 0.2446 MB -99.85%
Mean MSPT 90.949 86.252 -5.16%
P95 MSPT 117.509 107.184 -8.79%
TPS under load 10.991 11.504 +4.67%

MSPT and TPS results come from paired 180-second Forge stress tests and are directional whole-server results. Exact gains will ofc depend on your hardware, modpack, and how much chaos is happening around the player xd

《▒ Tiny Memory Cost ▒》

IWT keeps around 15.7 KB of shared template data and roughly 4.55 KB of scratch memory per active thread.

So yh, it keeps a few kilobytes around to avoid creating hundreds of megabytes of temporary garbage. Java's GC can finally breathe a little :DDD

《▒ Compatibility ▒》

Requires: Minecraft 1.20.1, Immersive Weathering 2.0.5, and Quantified API V2.

Supports: Forge and Fabric ofc.

《▒ Licensing ▒》

Licensed under BRSSLA V1.5, free for personal and non-commercial use.

Found a bug, got an idea, or somehow managed to break it? Feel free to report it :]
