About

Description

(This mod is a solo project made in MCreator, made as a hobby and for community entertainment, so please be careful when adding it to already existing packs due to the drastic features and compatibility aspects. So share your suggestions for the future and report any exploits and bugs (but not the funny ones!))

Note: JEI, EMI and it's addons are heavily recommended!

JMG’s Better Than Ever is a survival overhaul mod for Minecraft that transforms most aspects of the game into a horrific experience. From the moment you spawn, you're much more fragile and every step is dangerous. Hunger, thirst, and temperature are your arch-enemies from the beginning, and even simple tasks like chopping wood or mining stone require careful planning. Early tools are weak, and all resources are still there, but can't be gathered like they used to, forcing you to think strategically and make your decisions count much more.

As you progress, you gain access to new materials, crafting methods, and forging techniques. Copper, bronze, and eventually steel unlock new tools, weapons, and ways to process materials, while machines like the sawmill and millstone make resource management more efficient. Mobs are more geared and dangerous, and domesticating animals becomes a difficult choice rather than a task.

The mod emphasizes a sense of evolution and accomplishment. Each stage, from the primitive Copper Age to the End-Game, rewards careful planning, experimentation, and survival skill. Every decision matters, and progress is earned, giving the game a deeper, more challenging, and chaotic experience.

Defeat old foes with new abilities. Unlock materials by travelling in the brutal world and defeating mobs. Make little and huge steps to feel safe once again, but don't die in the way!

Explore new ores in the Nether, which are the equivalents of Overworld's materials. Use new fuels, building blocks, and much more.

(This mod was heavily inspired by FlowerChild's Better Than Wolves mod, so shoutout to him and the BTW community!)
