Description
Joined the Game
You start a Minecraft world like normal.
You build a house. Go mining. Explore. Do whatever you normally do.
Then something feels a little off.
Joined the Game is a Minecraft horror mod about making a normal Minecraft world feel just a bit less normal.
Strange things can happen while you're playing. You might notice someone in the distance, see something that shouldn't be there, receive a strange message, or come across something that makes you stop and think:
"Wait... what was that?"
The mod doesn't try to turn Minecraft into a completely different game. Most of the time, you're still just playing Minecraft.
That's what makes the strange moments stand out.
Someone Else Is Here
One of the main ideas behind the mod is another player appearing in your world.
They might be far away.
They might disappear.
They might interact with you.
They might just stand there.
Not every encounter is the same, and not everything you see is necessarily going to make sense.
Strange Things Can Happen
The mysterious player isn't the only thing you'll encounter.
There are different events and encounters that can happen while you're exploring, building, mining, or simply walking around.
Some are easy to notice.
Some aren't.
Some are rare.
And some are probably better experienced without knowing about them beforehand.
Chat
The mod also makes use of Minecraft's chat.
You may occasionally receive messages that seem like they're coming from somewhere they shouldn't.
If you're playing with other people, things can get even more confusing.
Multiplayer
Joined the Game also works in multiplayer.
Some events can be experienced by multiple players, so if something strange happens, you might not be the only one who saw it.
Which is always reassuring.
Not Just Jumpscares
This isn't meant to be a constant jumpscare machine.
The goal is more about atmosphere and uncertainty.
You're supposed to be able to play Minecraft normally and slowly start noticing that something isn't quite right.
Sometimes something happens.
Sometimes nothing happens at all.
You'll have to see what you find.
Spoilers
I'm leaving most of the actual encounters out of this description on purpose.
There's more to discover than what's written here, and finding things yourself is a big part of the mod.
So if you're playing for the first time, don't spoil everything for yourself.
Just play.
Made With AI
One last thing:
This mod was made with AI.
It started as a small experiment to see how much could be made with only a few prompts.
Somehow, that turned into an actual Minecraft horror mod.
So yeah.
This exists now.
Have fun.
And if someone joins your world when you weren't expecting anyone...
maybe don't assume they're your friend.
