Because pedro is incompetent and can't fix the connection issues for DonutSMP. I have created a mod to do it!

About

Description

Currently, I constantly encounter issues with DonutSMP. Making me stuck in "Joining world..." for sometimes hours at a time.

I have tried multiple support tickets, and begged the Donut team to just attempt to fix these connection issues.

Due to Pedros incompetency, I have sort of came to the conclusion the only way for these issues to get fixed is if I spend the time to fix it myself.

Menu and usage information

When you are stuck in Joining world..., before you try to connect again click on the top left button "OFF" to turn on the fix, then re-attempt to connect. You should load right in!

This mod has only been natively tested, and proven to work on 1.21.11

How this mod works:

When you get stuck on "Joining world...", your game is usually not actually frozen — the server has already accepted your connection, but it never finishes placing you into a world (on DonutSMP this typically happens because the spot it's trying to load you into never resolves). The game hides the chat during this screen, so you can't type a command to save yourself — you can only sit there or disconnect.

JoiningWorldFix bypasses the chat UI entirely. Once armed, it watches the "Joining world..." / "Loading terrain..." screens, and as soon as your connection reaches the play state it sends a command packet (default /rtp eu central) directly through the network connection — the same packet the chat box would send, just without needing the chat box. The server executes the teleport, you land in a loadable location, and the world finishes joining. If the first attempt doesn't free you, it re-sends on an interval, or you can trigger it instantly with a hotkey (default R).

If the connection is stuck even earlier (the server never handed you to a world at all - a phase where the protocol has no command packet), the mod tells you on screen and can automatically disconnect and rejoin instead.

Everything is opt-in: it does nothing until you flip the JWF: ON toggle on the multiplayer screen, and by default it only acts on servers matching "donutsmp".
