JSG: Dark Reflections is a mysterious and atmospheric addon for Just Stargate Mod (JSG) that introduces space-time anomalies, an alternate mirror dimension, and unsettling doppelgängers that resemble real players.

Not every wormhole leads to its intended destination. Sometimes, a Stargate connection can be disrupted, sending you somewhere familiar... yet disturbingly different.

Explore another version of your world, encounter your own reflection, and discover what might be waiting on the other side of the event horizon.

🌀 Space-Time Anomalies

Traveling through the Stargate network is no longer entirely predictable.

Under certain circumstances, mysterious anomalies may interfere with your journey and redirect you to unexpected destinations.

⚫ Black Hole Anomaly

A space-time disturbance can redirect your Stargate journey into a parallel mirror dimension.

Instead of arriving at your intended destination, you find yourself in an alternate version of your own world.

Everything looks familiar, but you may not be alone.

☀️ Solar Flare Anomaly

A solar flare can interfere with the wormhole's trajectory, causing you to arrive at a different Stargate than the one you originally dialed.

You could find yourself somewhere completely unexpected, potentially in another dimension.

Every Stargate journey carries a small element of uncertainty.

🌍 The Mirror World

Discover an alternate reflection of your original Overworld.

The Mirror World is a separate dimension created from a snapshot of your existing world.

It can preserve:

• Natural terrain and biomes.

• Existing structures and buildings.

• Player-created constructions.

• Elements of the world captured during the initial snapshot.

At first glance, the Mirror World may seem identical to your normal world.

However, something feels wrong.

You might recognize familiar locations, buildings, and landscapes, but strange entities could be watching you from a distance.

An Independent Dimension

The Mirror World is completely separate from the original Overworld.

Changes made inside the Mirror World do not directly modify your original world.

Important: The Mirror World is created from an initial snapshot. It is not continuously synchronized with the Overworld.

👁️ Mysterious Player Doppelgängers

You are not alone in the Mirror World.

Strange entities resembling actual players can appear throughout the dimension.

These mysterious doppelgängers may look almost identical to you, but their glowing white eyes reveal that something is not quite right.

Doppelgänger Behavior

Doppelgängers have several unusual abilities:

• Player Appearance: They can resemble real players, including their skins.

• White Eyes: Their unnatural eyes distinguish them from ordinary players.

• Stalking: They can observe and follow players from a distance.

• Movement Imitation: They may attempt to imitate certain player actions.

• Crouching: They can crouch while observing or hiding.

• Hiding: When spotted, they may attempt to retreat behind nearby obstacles.

• Hostile Behavior: Provoked doppelgängers can inflict dangerous temporal effects.

• Respawn Cooldown: A five-minute cooldown prevents the same player's doppelgänger from immediately reappearing after death or escape.

Their behavior can be unpredictable. Some may simply observe you, while others may become more dangerous.

They look like you. They move like you. But they are not you.

🚪 Doppelgängers Can Escape Through Stargates

Doppelgängers are not limited to wandering around the Mirror World.

When discovered, they can attempt to escape using the Stargate network.

They are capable of:

1. Detecting a nearby functional Stargate.

2. Approaching its connected DHD.

3. Dialing an available Stargate address.

4. Waiting for the wormhole to open and stabilize.

5. Moving toward the event horizon.

6. Traveling through the Stargate.

7. Automatically closing the Stargate shortly after passing through.

This makes following them much more difficult.

You might see your own double running toward a Stargate, dialing an address, and disappearing into the event horizon before you can catch it.

And once the Stargate closes, where did it go?

⚡ Temporal Corruption

Doppelgängers can become dangerous when provoked.

Rather than relying entirely on conventional attacks, hostile doppelgängers can unleash temporal corruption against nearby players.

This supernatural ability may cause:

• Wither: Gradual damage over a short period.

• Slowness: Temporarily reduced movement speed.

These effects make approaching a hostile doppelgänger dangerous, especially when exploring unfamiliar locations.

🔋 Mirror World Stargate Equipment

To help keep the Stargate network functional inside the Mirror World, the addon automatically equips loaded Stargates and DHDs with essential components.

• DHDs: Automatically receive a Glyph Crystal.

• Stargates: Automatically receive two Creative Capacitor Banks.

The addon periodically checks these components and replaces them when necessary.

This feature applies specifically to the Mirror World and does not automatically equip Stargates in normal dimensions.

📦 Requirements

Minecraft Version: 1.20.1

Mod Loader: Minecraft Forge

Required Mod: Just Stargate Mod (JSG)

JSG: Dark Reflections is an addon and requires Just Stargate Mod to function.

For multiplayer, install the addon and its required dependencies on both the server and all connecting clients.

⚠️ IMPORTANT — FIRST-TIME INSTALLATION

JSG: Dark Reflections requires an initial world or server restart to properly initialize the Mirror World.

This step is important when installing the addon for the first time.

🖥️ Singleplayer Installation

1. Install JSG: Dark Reflections and its required dependencies.

2. Launch Minecraft.

3. Open your existing world.

4. Allow the world to load normally.

5. Save and quit to the main menu.

6. Open the same world again.

Your Mirror World should now be initialized and ready to use.

🌐 Multiplayer Server Installation

1. Stop your Minecraft server.

2. Install JSG: Dark Reflections and its required dependencies.

3. Start the server.

4. Allow the server and world to finish loading.

5. Shut down the server properly using the stop command.

6. Start the server again.

The initial restart is required to allow the Mirror World to initialize correctly.

Skipping this step may prevent certain features, especially access to the Mirror World, from functioning as expected.

⚠️ Important Notes

• Always back up your world before installing the addon.

• Do not manually delete or replace the Mirror World dimension without understanding the consequences.

• The initial snapshot is not a continuous backup system.

• The Mirror World does not automatically update when changes are made to your original Overworld.

• On multiplayer servers, always perform a proper shutdown before restarting.

🌐 Multiplayer Support

JSG: Dark Reflections is designed to support both singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay.

Players can experience Stargate anomalies, explore the Mirror World, and encounter their own mysterious doppelgängers.

Doppelgänger respawn cooldowns are tracked separately for each player.

Please note: Multiplayer support is still considered experimental. Although the addon includes server-side mechanics, some interactions may require additional testing with multiple players connected simultaneously.

🛠️ Configuration

Several features can be adjusted through the mod's configuration settings, including anomaly behavior and doppelgänger-related options.

This allows server administrators and singleplayer users to customize aspects of the experience.

⚠️ Beta Disclaimer

JSG: Dark Reflections is currently in beta.

Although its main features have been tested during development, unexpected issues may still occur, especially on heavily modded multiplayer servers.

Creating backups before installation or major updates is strongly recommended.

If you encounter a bug, please provide the Minecraft version, Forge version, installed JSG version, and relevant logs when reporting the issue.
