Description
Kaledelights Compat
A compatibility layer that connects Kaleidoscope Cookery with Farmer's Delight and its 40+ "Delight" add-ons — so their cookware, recipes and item tags finally understand each other.
This mod adds no new food or blocks. It only provides compatibility logic and adapted content.
Features
1. Oil Pot System (oil = rusticdelight:cooking_oil)
- Refill:
Oil Pot + Cooking Oil→ +1 oil - Extract:
Oil Pot (with oil) + Glass Bottle→ cooking oil, −1 oil (pot returned) - Right-click a placed oil pot with a bottle or oil to extract / pour
- Empty pots stack normally; cooking oil is not edible (right-click pours, not drinks)
2. Unified Sushi Crafting
- Sushi from 6 Delight mods (Farmer's Delight, Aquaculture Delight, Immortalers Delight, Alex's Mobs Delight, Cave Delight, Cultural Delights) is crafted on the cuisine table — 37 recipes, including the reworked banana roll (banana peel as its own outer skin) and Cave Delight's new radgill roll
- Cuisine table has 2 ingredient slots; pink rice base model for sakura sushi
- Works with either Youkai mod (see Two Youkai Mods, One Compatibility Layer below)
3. Tea System Integration
- Kaleidoscope Cookery's teacup ability applies to 14 Youkai's Feasts teas (15 with Youkai's Homecoming, which adds Scarlet Tea)
- 20 tea bags usable in the Cookery teapot, each keeping its original effect (21 with Youkai's Homecoming)
- Tea bags use 2×2 recipes:
3 tea leaves + 1 special ingredient (bottom-right) - Tibetan tea (Egyptian sugar tea) is brewed with milk
- With Trail&Tales Delight installed, sakura teas use its dried cherry petals; otherwise vanilla pink petals are used automatically
4. Automatic Recipe Interchange
- Cookery stockpot ⇄ Farmer's Delight cooking pot recipes sync bidirectionally at runtime
- Built-in loop prevention, duplicate prevention, and ingredient-existence validation
- Migration stats are printed under the
[配方迁移]prefix in logs - Steamer recipe interchange: the Cookery steamer and the Youkai steamer set
(pot + rack + lid) also sync their steaming recipes both ways at runtime —
any recipe added by either side (including other mods) gets a counterpart on the other side
(logs:
[蒸笼迁移])
5. Item Tag Completion
- 1268 tag entries across 38 mod namespaces, so similar materials can substitute
6. Carry On Compatibility
- 173 block blacklist entries (78 Cookery + 95 Youkai's Feasts) so functional blocks aren't carried away and lose their state
7. Chopping Board Unification
- All Kaleidoscope Cookery chopping-board recipes are migrated to the Farmer's Delight cutting board; use the Cookery cleaver to obtain Cookery ingredients
8. Ingredient Unification
- 41 item rules (covering 103 source items) + 7 block rules unify duplicate items across Cookery / Farmer's Delight related mods
- Works standalone — rules are bundled inside the mod, no external datapack needed
- Cookery mantou is unified into the Youkai mantou (no longer deleted)
- A few rules remove duplicates outright (
to minecraft:air). That can be switched off globally or trimmed item by item — see Configurable below
9. Configurable
config/KaledelightsCompat/(auto-generated on first launch)compat.json— feature toggles (e.g. chopping board on/off)unify.omniconf— unification settings in a sectioned, comment-friendly format: toggle rule groups, blacklist items, add your own mappingsrules.txt— auto-generated list of every built-in rule (source → target), the current on/off state of each group, and how to change them
- Four ways to customise unification
- turn a whole rule group off —
"Rule Groups"→ set that group tofalse - remove nothing at all —
"Item Deletion"→B:AllowItemDeletion=false - keep only a few items that would otherwise be removed —
"Blacklist"→ list their IDs - add your own rule —
"Custom Mappings"→S:Items < source_id to target_id >
- turn a whole rule group off —
- Changes take effect after
/reload— no restart needed - Upgrading from 1.3.0 / 1.3.1: an existing
unify.jsonis migrated automatically, and the old file is kept asunify.json.migrated.bak
Two Youkai Mods, One Compatibility Layer
Youkai's Feasts and Youkai's Homecoming come from the same author and the same codebase — both add a cuisine table and a tea system — but they cannot be installed together. This mod supports either one: install whichever you prefer and you get the same cuisine table / sushi / tea compatibility.
- Under the hood a namespace resolver detects which of the two is present and routes every ID accordingly; the unification rule set is filtered to match
- Youkai's Homecoming additionally brings one exclusive tea, Scarlet Tea (brewed from black tea leaves and a blood bottle), which is fully supported — teacup models, tea bag, recipes and its own effect
Multiplayer & Dedicated Servers
- Item deletion / blacklist / disabled rule groups are synced from the server. On a dedicated server (or a LAN world) the server sends its effective settings to each client on login, so a client no longer keeps deleting items the server has chosen to keep. This fixes the case where client and server had different item-deletion settings and the client showed inconsistent items / recipes.
- Known limitation: if recipes still fail to show after joining, run
/reloadonce — the recipes will re-sync and appear.
Requirements
Required
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge 47+
- OneEnoughItem 1.0.8+ — this mod depends on OEI's item-unification layer, because the unified item IDs it references (cooking oil, tofu, salt dust, …) are provided by OEI. OELib comes with OEI automatically.
Optional (43 linked mods) — besides the required prerequisites above, none of them is required; missing ones simply disable their own content, nothing crashes.
Core recommended: Kaleidoscope Cookery 1.5.0+, Farmer's Delight 1.20.1-1.3.4+, Rustic Delight 1.7.0+, and either Youkai's Feasts 0.5.0+ or Youkai's Homecoming 2.0.0+.
Notes
- This is a compatibility layer — it adds no items or blocks of its own.
- OneEnoughItem is a required prerequisite; all other linked content is optional.
- Youkai's Feasts and Youkai's Homecoming are mutually exclusive — install only one. If neither is present, the tea bags and cuisine-table content are not registered.
- Recipe sync only runs when Farmer's Delight and Kaleidoscope Cookery are both present.
- Recipe migration logs are printed under the
[配方迁移]prefix.
