Katt's Ornithology

Take to the skies with Katt's Ornithology! Explore the world and discover new birds, then craft an Aeronaut's Table and use their feathers to grant your elytra enhanced abilities. Conquer the air in a way you never have before!

Katt's Ornithology currently adds seven new birds to Minecraft: the songbird, the hummingbird, the toucan, the penguin, the crow, the pelican, and the cardinal.

In addition, Katt's Ornithology adds the Wingsuit, which is crafted by surrounding an Elytra with eight vanilla feathers. The wingsuit can be upgraded in an Aeronaut's Table by combining it with up to eight feathers dropped by the mod's various bird species. The feather of each species provides different boosts or drawbacks to the Wingsuit in one of four categories:

• Speed, which is self-explanatory;
• Glide, which affects the ability to maintain velocity for a longer period of time;
• Endurance, which affects how quickly the wingsuit loses durability; and
• Shield, which affects how much damage the player takes when crashing into walls.

Updates on this mod will be slower than they have been for the next little while, as major update 0.5 is in the works which will add lots of new content and some improvements to old features.

This mod has up-to-date releases for versions 1.19.2 and 1.19.4. A 1.19.3 version exists with some newer features removed; please let me know if you wish for me to update the 1.19.3 version as I will not be doing so otherwise.

• The songbird, which is found in forests and comes in four variants;
• The hummingbird, which zips through flowery biomes;
• The toucan, which is found in jungles; and
• The penguin, which slides across tundras and icebergs.

In addition, Katt's Ornithology adds the Wingsuit, which is crafted by surrounding an Elytra with eight feathers. The wingsuit can be upgraded in an Aeronaut's Table by combining it with up to eight feathers dropped by the mod's various bird species. The feather of each species provides different boosts or drawbacks to the Wingsuit in one of four categories:

This mod is currently in the early stages of development. While the content added thus far is completely stable and self-sufficient, there are many, many more additions planned, and the mod will be frequently updated until a full release is reached. A Fabric port is also planned for the future, but this will likely not come until much closer to a full release.
