Description

Save Percent of Inventory

Save Percent of Inventory is a lightweight server-side Fabric mod that changes the vanilla death penalty. Instead of dropping all items on the ground or keeping everything with keepInventory, this mod keeps a customizable percentage of your items directly in your inventory upon respawning, while the rest are permanently destroyed.

No more tedious corpse runs or picking up scattered items!

✨ Features

  • Customizable Retention: Choose exactly what percentage of item slots stay in the player's inventory after death.

  • No Item Drops: Unsaved items disappear permanently—they do not drop on the ground, so you don't have to walk back to your death location.

  • Server-Side Only: Players do not need to install this mod on their game clients to join your server.

  • Randomized Selection: Slot preservation is randomized on every death based on your configured percentage.

⚙️ Configuration

Upon the first launch, the mod generates a configuration file located at:

config/percent_keep_inventory.json

JSON

{
  "keepPercentage": 70
}
  • 100 — Keeps 100% of filled item slots (similar to keepInventory, but without dropping anything).

  • 70 (Default) — Keeps ~70% of item slots and destroys the remaining ~30%.

  • 0 — Destroys all items upon death.

🛠️ Requirements

  • Minecraft: 1.20.1

  • Loader: Fabric Loader

  • Dependency: Fabric API

📥 Installation
