Description
la_lime_ace's Attributes Mod
New Attributes as of Version 0.3.1
This mod introduces a brand-new attribute system built on top of Minecraft's vanilla attribute system. The current update focuses on mining mechanics (with a little bit of combat and trees ???) , but many more attributes and gameplay features will be added in future releases.
Although the mod uses vanilla attributes and text display, it must be installed on both the server and the client to function properly.
New Attributes
Currently available attributes:
- Mining Spread
- Ore Mining Spread
- Block Mining Spread
- Ore Mining Fortune
- Block Mining Fortune
- Cleave (not related to combat)
- Speed
New Mechanics
Currently available things (I guess):
- Damage Indicator
Fortune Enchantment Rework
The Fortune enchantment has been completely reworked and now grants mining attributes instead of only affecting vanilla ore drops.
Each level of Fortune provides:
- +75 Ore Mining Fortune
- +3 Block Mining Fortune
Experience drops from mined blocks have also been rebalanced to better fit the new mining system.
Mining Fortune
Ore Mining Fortune and Block Mining Fortune use the exact same calculation.
For every 100 Fortune, you receive:
- 1 guaranteed additional drop
- Any remaining value becomes the percentage chance to receive one extra drop.
Example
554 Ore Mining Fortune
- 5 guaranteed additional drops
- 54% chance to receive a 6th additional drop
The same applies to Block Mining Fortune.
554 Block Mining Fortune
- 5 guaranteed additional drops
- 54% chance to receive a 6th additional drop
Mining Spread
Mining Spread determines how many additional blocks are mined automatically.
There are three different Spread attributes:
- Mining Spread → applies to every block.
- Ore Mining Spread → only applies to ores.
- Block Mining Spread → only applies to non-ore blocks (stone, deepslate, dirt, etc.).
Whenever you mine a block, all applicable Spread values are combined.
Ore Example
Attributes:
- 632 Mining Spread
- 123 Ore Mining Spread
- 682 Block Mining Spread
When mining an ore:
- 632 Mining Spread → 6 additional ores + 32% chance for one more
- 123 Ore Mining Spread → 1 additional ore + 23% chance for one more
Result
- 7 guaranteed additional ores
- 55% chance to mine one extra ore
(32% from Mining Spread + 23% from Ore Mining Spread)
Block Example
Attributes:
- 632 Mining Spread
- 123 Ore Mining Spread
- 682 Block Mining Spread
When mining a regular block:
- 632 Mining Spread → 6 additional blocks + 32% chance for one more
- 682 Block Mining Spread → 6 additional blocks + 82% chance for one more
Result
- 12 guaranteed additional blocks
- 114% chance to mine more blocks:
- 1 guaranteed extra block
- 14% chance to mine one additional block
(32% from Mining Spread + 82% from Block Mining Spread)
Cleave
Cleave allows you to mine multiple adjacentlogs at once.
Its calculation is identical to Mining Spread, except that instead of increasing the number of drops, it increases the number of connected log broken simultaneously.
- it is my take on the "treecapitator" type of mods/datapacks
Speed
Speed makes you go fast (I am Sped)
- 100 speed (base value) = 100% of the normal vanilla minecraft player speed (times 1)
- 500 speed = 500% of of the normal vanilla minecraft player speed (times 5)
It is reallllllly simple.
Damage Indicator
A floating damage indicator is displayed every time you hit a mob.
It can be enabled or disabled using the gamerule:
/gamerule showDamageIndicator
It is enabled by default.
If an attack deals more damage than the target's base health, an "Insta-kill" message will be displayed instead of the damage value.
A debug attribute menu is currently available by pressing the Right Control key.
This interface is still a work in progress and is intended for debugging purposes only. It will receive a complete visual overhaul in future updates.
Everything shown in this mod is still WIP. More attributes, mechanics, balancing changes, and quality-of-life improvements are planned for future versions.
