# LevelZ Placeholder API

A lightweight Fabric mod that exposes a player's [LevelZ] 
level, skill levels, and experience as placeholders, so you can show RPG progression anywhere 
Placeholder API is supported — chat, nicknames, scoreboards, sidebars, and tab lists.

## Placeholders

| Placeholder | Output | Example |
|---|---|---|
| `%levelz:level%` | Player's overall level | `42` |
| `%levelz:skill_level <skill>%` | Level for a specific skill | `%levelz:skill_level mining%` → `15` |
| `%levelz:xp%` | Current XP | `1234` |
| `%levelz:skill_points%` | Unspent skill points | `3` |

New players with no LevelZ data yet will show `0` instead of throwing errors.

## Example Usage

**StyledChat format:**

**Sidebar (StyledSidebars):**

**Nicknames / tab list:** drop `%levelz:level%` or `%levelz:skill_level <skill>%` into any 
styled placeholder text field.

## Notes

- Server-side only mod. No client installation needed.
- LevelZ doesn't expose a stable public API, so this mod reads its internal data structures 
  directly. Updating LevelZ to a new major version may require an update to this mod as well — 
  check the changelog before updating LevelZ on a live server.
- Skill names match whatever is registered in your LevelZ config/datapack (including custom 
  skills added via datapack since LevelZ 2.0.0).
