Description

Description

LogiChest is a lightweight Forge logistics mod built to take the frustration out of inventory management with smart item routing and simple, survival-friendly automation.

Instead of relying on pipe networks, complicated machinery, or redstone-heavy sorting contraptions, LogiChest gives you a clean and intuitive way to organize storage rooms, automate production lines, and manage item flow using two core blocks: Hubs and Sorters.

A Hub acts as the center of your network. Place one next to a chest or inventory, insert the required crafting ingredients (fully configurable), and it will automatically forge a LogiLink Key over time.

That key allows you to link Sorters to the Hub, creating a flexible logistics system where each Sorter can route only the items you specify.

Each Sorter includes a simple 5×2 whitelist grid, ensuring that only chosen items are transferred while everything else is ignored.

Features

Automatic Link Key Crafting

Hubs work like a furnace: provide ingredients and Link Keys are crafted automatically over time with no extra steps required.

Hub and Sorter Networks

Connect multiple Sorters to a single Hub to build scalable logistics setups for storage systems, farms, or factories.

Whitelist-Driven Sorting

Every Sorter uses a configurable filter grid. Only matching items will ever be moved or routed.

Vanilla-Inspired Interfaces

Clean, familiar GUIs styled after vanilla chest and furnace menus, complete with progress indicators and tooltips.

Configurable and Modpack-Friendly

All major mechanics can be adjusted through a Forge config file, allowing easy balancing for servers and packs.

Hopper-Style Transfers

Sorters behave like intelligent hoppers, pulling only valid items and sending them directly into the correct destination inventory.

Fair Item Distribution

When several Sorters share the same Hub, transfers are handled with round-robin routing to keep distribution even and consistent.

Configuration Options

LogiChest includes server-friendly settings for tuning speed and complexity:

  • keyCraftTimeTicks — Time required to forge Link Keys
  • maxLinkedSorters — Maximum Sorters connected to one Hub
  • transfersPerCycle — Items routed per tick
  • hopperCooldownTicks — Delay between routing attempts

These options make it easy to customize LogiChest for both casual survival worlds and large SMP servers.

Recommended Uses

  • Automated storage sorting without pipe networks
  • Routing items into smelters, farms, or processing lines
  • Compact logistics setups using only vanilla inventories
  • Combining with hoppers and redstone for advanced automation

LogiChest is designed to remain lightweight, intuitive, and perfectly at home in long-term vanilla-style gameplay.

⭐ Description

Take the tedium out of inventory management with LogiChest, a lightweight Forge mod focused on smart item routing and automation!

Whenever you’re dealing with multiple chests, storage rooms, or production lines, LogiChest gives you the tools to build robust sorting systems without external pipes or redstone contraptions. Build simple logistics networks using Hubs and Sorters, and let them do the heavy lifting for you.

Place a Hub next to a chest and drop in the required ingredients (configurable) to automatically craft a LogiLink Key. Use that key to link Sorter blocks to the Hub so they know where to pull items from and what items to accept. Each Sorter has a 5×2 whitelist grid where you can assign exactly which items it should route — or leave slots empty to block everything except what you choose.

🚀 Key Features

✅ Automatic Key Crafting — Furnace-Style Drop in the recipe items and the Hub will forge Link Keys automatically over time — no button required.

✅ Link Keys and Sorters Link Sorters to Hubs using keys to assign sorting behavior across your logistics network.

✅ Whitelist-Driven Sorting Each Sorter has a configurable whitelist grid. Only items you specify will be pulled and routed.

✅ Vanilla-Style UI Clean, recognizable GUIs — inspired by vanilla furnace/chest screens — with progress indicators and helpful tooltips.

✅ Configurable Behavior Adjust key crafting time, maximum sorters per Hub, transfer rates, and more via a Forge config file.

✅ Hopper Integration Sorters pull items from inventory just like hoppers, but only what matches your filters, and move them straight into desired chests.

✅ Round-Robin Routing When multiple Sorters are linked to the same Hub, LogiChest distributes transfers fairly across all active Sorters.

⚙️ Configuration Options

LogiChest comes with easy-to-tweak settings to balance sorting speed and complexity:

  • keyCraftTimeTicks: How long it takes to auto-craft Link Keys
  • maxLinkedSorters: How many Sorters a Hub can link
  • transfersPerCycle: How many items a Hub tries to route per tick
  • hopperCooldownTicks: Base delay between routing attempts

All settings are exposed in the server config for easy customization.

✅ Recommended Usage

✔ Build item networks that feed smelters, farms, or production lines ✔ Link multiple Sorters to one Hub to spread routing load ✔ Use chests and barrels as destinations — no extra pipes or mods required ✔ Combine with hoppers and redstone for advanced automation
