Description

Luwu's Wayfarer's Capsule

A cozy collection of compact, wanderer‑friendly shelters that feel like home on the road.

📖 What is this datapack / mod?

This project adds a series of small, fresh‑style buildings that generate naturally in selected biomes. It is available both as a datapack and as a mod – choose the format that best fits your setup!

Each building is designed from a survival player's perspective – spacious enough for your enchantment table, double chests, furnaces, and bed, yet simple and pleasant to look at.

Inside every capsule, you'll find randomised loot that's actually useful – practical supplies and quality gear, not just filler. Every discovery feels like a small reward for a traveller who's always on the move.

🏠 Current Content

Plains Wayfarer's Capsules

A cozy hideaway nestled in grassy biomes. Clean lines, warm tones, and plenty of room to settle in.

Generates in: Plains, Forest, Flower Forest, Meadow, Swamp, Windswept Forest, Wooded Badlands

Desert Wayfarer's Capsules

A sandy refuge with a touch of mystery. Inspired by desert temples but scaled down for a lone wanderer.

Generates in: Desert, Badlands, Eroded Badlands

Ocean Wayfarer's Capsules

A submerged sanctuary beneath the waves. The top features a Conduit with a complete activation frame – if the water is deep enough, it automatically activates, granting Conduit Power to nearby players and attacking hostile mobs.

Generates in: Ocean, Deep Ocean, Warm Ocean, Deep Warm Ocean, Lukewarm Ocean, Deep Lukewarm Ocean, Cold Ocean, Deep Cold Ocean, Frozen Ocean, Deep Frozen Ocean

Cherry Wayfarer's Capsules

A peaceful retreat tucked away among pink‑petalled cherry trees. Soft hues, wooden accents, and a serene atmosphere – perfect for a quiet stop on your journey.

Generates in: Cherry Grove

Snowy Wayfarer's Capsules

A warm and cozy shelter amidst the frozen wilderness. Though the outside may be covered in ice and snow, the interior remains as warm as home. One thing to keep in mind: the cold can sometimes freeze the water source at the base of the capsule, preventing the geyser elevator from working properly.

Generates in: Snowy Plains, Snowy Slopes, Snowy Taiga, Snowy Beach, Ice Spikes, Frozen Peaks, Jagged Peaks

Dark Forest Wayfarer's Capsules

A larger, more fortified shelter hidden deep within the darkest woods. Featuring a mini Woodland Mansion at its peak, this capsule offers more chests and supplies than any previous type. A dedicated internal passage lets you safely enter and exit through the canopy, away from ground-level dangers.

Generates in: Dark Forest

✨ More to come!

Additional biome‑specific capsule types are already in development – stay tuned for future updates!

🏅 Variant Tiers – Not Dungeon Difficulty!

Every capsule type comes in 4 visual tiers: Bronze, Iron, Gold, and Diamond.

These are variants, not difficulty levels. Higher‑tier capsules:

  • Have slightly different structural details (e.g., extra decorations, different materials)
  • Contain better loot (more valuable gear and supplies)
  • May contain special items with powerful abilities
  • Are rarer to find in the world

Think of them as different "quality grades" of the same shelter – a Diamond‑tier capsule feels more rewarding to discover, but a Bronze one is still perfectly livable.

🎁 Loot Structure

All waxed copper chests inside Wayfarer's Capsules have randomised loot, while waxed oxidized copper chests and decorated pots contain fixed rewards. Plain wooden chests and barrels do not contain any loot.

Each capsule is designed with a consistent loot layout:

  • Top section: May contain a loot chest (not guaranteed).
  • Middle section: Always contains 4 loot chests with a variety of survival supplies.

⚔️ Special Equipment – Keep an Eye Out!

Some capsules feature a special waxed oxidized copper chest in the middle section – this chest contains a powerful themed special item unique to that capsule type.

The tier of the capsule determines the maximum rarity of the special item that can appear inside. Higher‑tier capsules not only have a chance for rarer items, but also include all items from lower tiers – so if a capsule type has an Epic item, it will appear in Gold and Diamond capsules, while Bronze and Iron capsules won't have a chest for it at all.

Here's how the rarity scaling works:

  • Bronze tier – contains Common and Uncommon items
  • Iron tier – contains everything from Bronze, plus Rare items
  • Gold tier – contains everything from Iron, plus Epic items
  • Diamond tier – contains everything from Gold, plus Legendary items

In short: higher tier = more items available, including all the lower‑tier ones. If you don't find a special chest, it's likely because that capsule type only has higher‑tier items – keep exploring for higher‑tier capsules!

🔍 Keep exploring!

Some capsule themes may hide additional secret chests in unexpected corners – so don't rush past every nook and cranny! A keen eye might just reward you with something extra.

🌋 Geyser Elevator – How It Works

Each capsule is equipped with a Geyser‑powered vertical lift, taking advantage of the new geyser mechanic introduced in Minecraft 26.2 (Chaos Cubed).

The geyser is formed by placing Potent Sulfur above a Magma block, with 1‑4 Water source blocks on top. When it erupts, it applies a strong upward impulse to any entity above it – perfect for quickly moving between floors.

⚠️ Tips!

Do not fill in the water blocks at the base of the floor – the geyser will not function without them! If you prefer not to use the elevator, you're free to modify the structure, but the default design relies on this water source to work properly.

⚠️ Version Note:
The geyser elevator is only available in Minecraft 26.2 and above. For backported versions targeting lower Minecraft versions, the geyser mechanism is not present – instead, water flow is used for vertical movement between floors.

💡 Tip: For the best visual experience, we recommend using a seamless / connected glass texture pack or mod – it makes the glass panels look much cleaner!

🎯 Advancements

This project adds 9 advancements to track your exploration progress. Venture out, find different capsules and tiers, and fill out your collection!

🎉 What's New in 1.0.0 – The Basement Update

This is the first stable release of Luwu's Wayfarer's Capsule! For this update, I've gone back and rebuilt every capsule type from the ground up.

Capsules are now more spacious, with improved interior decoration and a more polished look. I've also adjusted the loot tables – the chance of finding rare items in certain chests is now affected by your Luck attribute!

Tier Adjustments (compared to 0.6.0)

Old Tier New Tier Loot Focus
Bronze Bronze Copper‑quality items
Gold → Iron Iron‑quality items
Magic → Gold Enchanted items
Diamond Diamond Diamond‑quality items

🏚️ Basement – Make It Your Own!

The biggest addition in 1.0.0 is – you guessed it – a basement for every capsule! These underground spaces come with built‑in storage, including chests and barrels to help you get settled. Don't like the layout? No problem – just grab an axe and break everything down to build your own treasure vault from scratch.

🌊 Improved Geyser Elevator

I've made a small but important tweak to the Geyser elevator: the water source at the bottom of each capsule has been raised from 1 block to 2 blocks tall. This gives you a longer upward boost, so you no longer have to worry about the geyser cutting out too early. And here's a bonus – with 2 blocks of water, you can now swim down to discover the hidden entrance to the basement!

⚔️ New Special Equipment

Version 1.0.0 introduces several new special items with built‑in rarity tiers:

  • Midas Sword (Legendary Wayfarer's Sword)
  • Sparkling Midas Sword (Mythic Wayfarer's Sword)
  • Meowgic Crystal (Legendary Wayfarer's Crystal)

❌ Removed Items (Temporarily)

Unfortunately, some items that were added in earlier versions have been removed for now – they either didn't work as intended or were too simple in design. They may return in future updates after a rework. These include:

  • One Time ROCKET!!!
  • Rod of the Sea
  • Firework Launcher (Special Edition)
  • All diamond armour with Protection V – X enchantments

📦 Compatibility

  • Minecraft version: 26.2
  • Dependencies: None – works standalone
  • Available as: Datapack and Mod – pick whichever you prefer!

💡 Recommendation: For the best visual experience, we recommend using a seamless / connected glass texture pack or mod – it makes the glass panels look much cleaner!

🚀 Note: I've already started planning backports to more Minecraft versions – stay tuned!

⚠️ Development Status

This project is actively in development. More building types, biomes, and variants are planned for future updates.

🌟 Why another structure pack?

I love exploring, but I often found that structures from other mods looked gorgeous yet were way too tiny – you could barely fit a crafting table, let alone an enchantment setup.

So I created these little hideaways from a survival player's perspective: they're meant to be functional (spacious and well‑lit) and pleasant to look at (clean, simple, and uncluttered – I'm no master builder, but I think they have charm).

Every find feels like a small reward for a traveller who's always on the move.

Happy trails! 🧭
